In the Bible, Jesus gave many charges to His disciples on what they should do until His second coming. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptize them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19 and James is full of verses such as these. "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress." James 1:27 "What good is it my brothers and sisters if you say you have faith, but do not have works. Can faith save you? If a brother or a sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, 'go in peace, keep warm and eat your fill.' and yet you do not supply their body's needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works is dead." James 2:14-17.

The Bible is clear. We need to do something beyond Sunday morning worship to fulfill God's call for our Christian service. It is our duty to reach out and help people who are in spiritual and physical need while spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.

Here we shall present our Christian Service to the people of Romania.

Mission: Romania 2001

Eric and MagdaMagdelena Paashaus

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Selah May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. O Lord, save the king! Answer us when we call! Psalm 20:1-9

Eric Paashaus

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Magdelena and Eric Paashaus met while Eric was in Romania during the summer of 1998. He was there working on environmental projects with Prof. Jon Twining (president of Marah International Inc). They were married in the summer of 1999, and have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord. They have felt a burden on their heart to serve in Magda's native country, Romania. Magda has worked with her father, a pastor, on food programs, street evangelism and has taught in a Christian Kindergarten. Eric has travelled to Romania five times and has taught science and trained area ecology clubs that have been set up by Prof. Twining. He has also spent time working with children in hospitals and orphanages.
Now they wish to help the needy people of Romania with a three tier approach: Spiritual, Educational, and Physical.

Spiritual- They want to help people find Jesus through expanding the church to rural areas and street evangelism.
Educational- They want to build kindergartens and prepare teachers to help children who do not have an opportunity to go to public schools. They also wish to continue their connection with areas ecology clubs and Marah International.

Physical- They want to continue to help food programs, build and repair houses, and help the gypsies and other poor people of Romania however best possible.

They want to thank the people who have or are helping make their work possible. With their support the works of God can be greatly increased. The people they help need the Living water of Jesus. "You can be sure that whoever gives a drink of cold water to one of the least of these, because he is my follower will certainly receive his reward." Matthew 10:42
