After the very strong performance with the start of the Fistball World
Championships against the top 4 Nations, Namibia slumped in form and lost the
really deciding games. The team never reached its form again, the spirit was
gone, no compusure, as if the pressure to win was to much and the players
mentally blocked to cope with the the big game temparament.
Namibia lost in straight sets to Argentina and had to play Denmark, one of the
minors from the last Championships, but with a tremendous improvement this
year, to qualify again for the Group A status, but lots clearly in two sets.
This meant that Nam had to play now Chile for Place 7, which the team with
lost of guts thgan managed in 2:1 sets.
This means now that we have to qualify again for the Grpup A status, although
this current modus is under lot of discussion and contriversy with the teams.
In the other games, Germany caused one of the upstes till now, when they won
against unbeaten and hot title favourite Austria in 2 straight sets, to play
in the final today against Brazil, a repeat of the last final. Brazil won
against Switzerland.
Centre court will be packed today with over 4000 franatic spectators, with
Samba drums and trompets, pushing their team.
