Biography |

| Ayatollah
Lankaraani was born in 1931 in the city of Qom. His father was a
master in the Islamic Seminary of Qom. When he finished primary
school, he began studying in the seminary of Qom, where he finished
the preliminary stages of his seminary studies within six years. At
the age of nineteen, he started his studies in Fiqh (jurisprudence)
and Usool (principles) at the Kharij level. It is worth noting that
while in quest for knowledge, Lankaraani was a schoolmate of the late
martyr Mustafaa Khumayni. Lankaraani benefited from Ayatollah Boroujerdi's lectures of Kharij in the subjects of Fiqh and Usool for about eleven years. He also participated in the classes of Ayatollah Imam Khumayni for nine years and the lectures on philosophy and commentary of Ayatollah Tabataba'i, until he became a religious authority at the age of 25. After the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Lankaraani was appointed as a member of The Council of Experts, and for more than ten years he was the administrator of the Islamic Seminary of Qom. Lankaraani has been teaching the highest level of Fiqh and Usool for twenty-five years and in that time he has written many books. |
