President G W Bush visits to see the wildfire for himself, and declare it a National Disaster.  We were grateful for the Federal assistance, but everyone would have liked to enjoy the President's visit for a happier reason.
No one is prepared for what we were about to see.  We'd watched all the news and watched in horror as our homes burned, but the reality is far more devistating.  The comfort of returning home will soon turn to a saddness and state of mourning that hasn't left most of us even after 19 months.  Come along with me to the next page as I continue the story of our wildfire.
