ACTOR

Acting professionally since 1981.

Major acting roles in many professional theatre productions including

Richard111, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Brilliant Lies, Macbeth,

Money and Friends, Absurd Person Singular, Arms and the Man,

Twelfth Night, Human Resources, Robin Hood, Away, Oliver!,

Subterranean Uni Blues, Speed City, Loudspeakers, The Venetian Twins,

Dirty Dick's, Hounds On Ice, Summer of the 17th Doll, These Foolish

Things, Essington Lewis, Kid Stakes, Other Times, Debts, Newcastle

Shorts, Abelard & Heloise, Guillotin!, Dick Whittington, SAO, Odd Bods,

Mission Improbable, Susannah Place, Confusion of Tongues, Sheriff's

Revenge, Treasure Island and many more  + speaking roles in recent feature

films Suburban Mayhem, Martha's New Coat, Blue Lies and many short films.

As director since 1981, Rod has worked professionally with

Hunter Valley Theatre Co, Freewheels, Flying Teapot Theatre,

Young People's Theatre, Not Another Theatre Co, New England Theatre Co.

Murray River Performing Group, Labyrinth Theatre, Reamus Youth Theatre,

Newcastle Theatre Co and on countless Theatre-in-

Education & independent productions inc Romeo & Juliet, Richard 111, When

The Wind Blows, Volpone, An Ideal Husband, A Midsummer Night's Dream,

Cosi, Macbeth, The Maids, Normie & Tuan, Dob! Dob! Dob!, Rooted,

Diary of a Madman, Oleanna, Chester & Sylvester, Richard111 and Gothick.

 

Musician

Rod is currently touring with Grant Walmsley's Agents of Peace on

saxophones, harmonica and back up vocals. The band performs many shows

Teacher

Since 2003, Rod has taught acting for the

University Of Newcastle Drama Department.

He also conducts private tuition in acting, voice & harmonica.
