The 1937 Studebaker engine at the original firehouse.
Off 'n' Runnin'
The Derby Volunteer Fire Company was organized in 1959, and answered its first alarm in March of 1963.

The first truck was a 1937 Studebaker, followed by a 1941 Chevrolet, and later included 1940, 1947, 1951 Ward LaFrances, 1974 & 1981 Macks, two tankers, two brush trucks, and service vehicles, and closed with today's Pierce apparatus.

The company served the residents of Fire District # 2 in Bordentown Township, N.J. until 2006, when the career staff replaced the volunteers and the company signed over all property to Fire District #2, closing the company.
The company motto "Off 'n' Runnin'" remains on the fire district vehicles.

This web page is dedicated to all the members of the company, volunteer and career, for their dedicated service to the community.
