_{Carbon Dioxide and Water are necessary to complete photosynthesis.  To oxidize the water,} NADP_{must be added.  The water is oxidized and} NADP_{is reduced to form} NADPH_{2 and free oxygen.  Then the} CO_{2 acts as the final hydrogen acceptor, combines with the} NADPH_{2 to form} C₆H₁₂O_{6 and NADP.  The NADP is reduced and you are left with} C₆H₁₂O_{6 and} O_{2.  This goes on and on and is called the Calvin Cycle.}
