About The Author
The name's Andrew Smith and I'm a 18 year old Tennessean from the States.  I'm currently a senior in high school (Class of 2006), managing editor for school newspaper, and bass drummer for high school marching drumline.
Both of my grandfathers, Ernest Coffman and Milton Smith St., served during World War II in the US Army.  Coffman, saw action in France and was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded.  Smith served in the Occupation of Italy from 1945 until 1947 at a prison system in Pisa and was head of an enlistedmen's service club.
Why did I create this website?

I strongly believe that the Greatest Generation (not only Americans) should be remembered for what they did for the world. They served, fought, and sometimes died in order to stop fascism - the worst kind of tryanny and to stop the genocide of millions of Jews, Slavs, Asians, and so on.
Many of them after the war helped rebuild their countries, others made their lands into superpowers, and some even formed new nations out of the old empires of the past.  Younger generations should take time out of their busy "schedules" to get to know the brave men and women still among us - before time runs out.

I also plan to someday publish a book containing the stories which are currently/going to be posted on here.
