THE RAINBOW CANDLE SPELL (Gerina Dunwich)

A multipurpose spell which can be performed any month of the year as needed; to help banish all things of a negative nature and strengthens all positive virtues as well as pays homage to the Goddess and the God. You will need athame or wand, candle anointing oil (pref. myrrh oil), 13 votive-size candles one each of the following colour; black, blue, brown, gold, grey, green, orange, pink, purple, red, silver, white and yellow

On a night when the moon is almost fullbut still in its waxing phase, cast a circle to establish sacred space.Arrange the 13 candles in a shape of a rainbow on the center of your altar, starting from left with the silver candle, followed by gold, white, grey, black, orange, yellow, purple, red, blue, brown, green, and pink candles. Repeat the following words as you anoint each candle with a few drops of anointing oil; " I consecrate thee as a tool to magick, and I charge thee with power. In the names of the Goddess and in the name of the God. So Mote It Be!"

After all the candles have been anointed, Light the first (silver) one and say; "O candle of silver I give thee flame; In honour of the Goddess and the waxing moon above. May they bless and protect thiis circle and the magick that within it this night shall be brought to life. So Mote It Be!" Light the gold candle next and say; "O candle of gold I give thee flame; In honour of the Horned God who is known by many names. May He bless and protect this circle and the magick that within it this night shall be brought to life. So Mote It Be!" Light the white candle next and say; "O candle of white I give thee flame; For in your light there is truth, purity and spiritual strength. As you burn bright and strong may I learn to be more centered and may I be blessed with wholeness. So Mote It Be!" Light the grey candle next and say; "O candle of grey I give thee flame; So that all negative energy from within and without may now be neutralized. So Mote It Be!" Light the black candle next and say; "O candle of black I give thee flame; So that all evil may now be banished and all sorrow and discord be brought to a close. Bless me with the power to let go of the past and put to rest that which is no longer;; so that from this ending a new beginning can emerge. So Mote It Be!" Light the orange candle next and say; "O candle of orange I give thee flame; For in your light there is encouragement and stimulation, adaptation and organization. As you burn bright and strong, may my powers of self-control and concentration be strengthened. So Mote It Be!" Light the yellow candle next and say; "O candle of yellow I give thee flame; For in your light there is unity, persuasion and creativity. As you burn bright and strong may my confidence be increased and my mind power be strengthened. So Mote It Be!" Light the purple candle next and say; "O candle of purple I give thee flame; For in your light there is ambition, dignity and independence. Bless me with wisdom, bless me with protection. As you burn bright ans strong, may my psychic and occult powers also grow in strength. So Mote It Be!" Light the red candle and say; "O candle of red I give thee flame; For in your light there is strength, energy and passion. Bless me with will power, bless me with courage. Like the blood of life which flows through my veins, may your force always flow throughout my body, my mind and my spiritual self. So Mote It Be!" Light the blue candle next and say; "O candle of blue I give thee flame; For in your light there is peace, inspiration, and tranquility. As you burn right and strong. May I come to know the virtues of patience, loyalty, and understanding. So Mote It Be!" Light the brown candle next and say; "O candle of brown I give thee flame; For in your light there is stability and earthiness. As you burn bright and strong may I learn to overcome indecisions and hesitation and all that holds me back. So Mote It Be!" Light the green candle next and say; "O candle of green I give thee flame; For in your light there is healing, fertility and prosperity. Grant me ambition and generosity. As you burn bright and strong may I be blessed with good luck in abundance. So Mote It Be!" Finally light the pink candle and say; "O candle of pink I give thee flame; For in your light there is affection and friendship, honour and unselfishness. As you burn bright and strong may my spirit awaken and may my heart know the true meaning of love. For love is the treasure at the end of the rainbow and only love can conquer all. For love is the light and light is love and love shall be the law. So Mote It Be!" Visualize the energy of each candle as a glowing aura of coloured light surrounding its flame. Hold your arms out with palms up in a traditional witches' prayer position and visualize a beam of coloured light from each candle's aura flowing into your body through the fingertips. Continue the visualization until you feel your entire body filled with warm glowing multicoloured light like a living rainbow of magickal energy. When you feel the time is right, slowly begin to withdraw from the visualization and end the spell and uncast the circle.  You may extinguish the candles or allow them to burn out if you so desire.
