THE GODDESS
Pagans see Divine Energy as being a balance of both feminine and masculine. We call the feminine aspect of Divinity Goddess and the masculine aspect God. We give them names according to our religious faith; Aradia, Artemis, Diana, Kwan-Yin, Apollo, Zeus, Buddha, Christ and many more.

Let us first take a look at  the Triple Goddess, the Bright and Dark Mother best symbolize in the waxing, full, and waning; dark and light of the moon.  She is ever Three and ever One. The Maiden, Mother and Crone. The Goddess is both the womb and the tomb from whom comes all life and to whom all life must return. It is a never ending cycle of life and the Dark Mother  is not to be feared but  trusted as She urges us forward to new life so that we may once again return to the Bright Mother.

The waxing moon from time of new moon to full moon symbolizes the Maiden. The bright new beginning filled with endless possibillities. She is enchantment, springtime, innocence, the huntress. Her traditional colour is white.

The full moon symbolizes the Mother. She is the lover. She is fertility and She is mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually powerful. The Great Mother from whom comes all  gods and humanity and nature. Her traditional colour is red.

The waning moon from time of full moon to new moon symbolizes the Crone. She is wisdom, the loving grandmother with compassion undisturbed by illusion. Her wisdom comes from experience. The Maiden and Mother live in her as stored experience and she in them as potential. Her traditional colour is black.
