DISCHARGED: 15 Sept 1865 at Louisville, KY
MILITARY: At a skirmish at Buck Hawe(sp), Va about 15 August, 1863-he was injured. From witnesses James Hall and Alexander Hall is given this account, "In 1863 we were all on a scout in Virginia when William was thrown from a mule. He was so badly hurt that he was left behind and it was fully a month before he rejoined the regiment. We were with him at the time." They were "neighbors and friends in Kentucky and Virginia before the war."
PENSION: For injuries. He was thrown from a mule at Buck
Hawe, also referred to as Grundy, VA. "He was thrown from a mule
against a tree with great force. The mule striking him in the breast
with its foreward feet. He laid for some time senseless [unconscious]
and on coming to his senses he had a severe pain in his breast and left
side from head to foot. He also says that while in service he contracted
piles from which he has never recorered. He was never treated in
a hospital, not being satisfied with hospital treatment. But he was
treated by army doctors at his unit." He was paid $12 per month.
The records add that he had a stroke ca 1895.

Hurley at Pikeville], Harry Moore lived near Hurleys in Kansas and MN,
M.A. Waters also a witness while in Washington, Kansas.
Disability: Paralyzed on left side, rheumatism and piles, nearly
blind in one eye, stroke.

Wife: Isabella Breeding [sister of Albert J. Breeding, Co. H],
Married 8 Sept 1843 by Wm. "Raimy" JP. She died 28 February 1905.
