Addison's son, Allen H., served as a Sergeant in the 39th.

According to a family tradition, Allen was legally blind at the time of his service in the 39th. Family stories have it that he enlisted with his brothers because he didn't want to be left behind. When it came time to fight he couldn't really see what was going on but he could load a gun and shoot it after being pointed into the right direction. He made it through the war in one piece (amazingly) and lived later in Charley, KY. He used to be buried in Charley as well, but years ago his grave was moved to a different location and there's no information right now whre he is buried now.

This information and photo was given to Marlitta Perkins by Gene Stacy, a family member of Allen Miller who gave permission to post it on the 39th page.
