Private David Daniels, Co. H

David Daniels enlisted on December 28th, 1863, and was mustered-in at Louisa, Kentucky, on December 30, 1863. He died of "fever" at Mount Sterling, Kentucky, on August 7th, 1864. His illness and impending death is mentioned in a letter written by Moses Pinson of Company E and entered into the Compiled Service Records of the 39th Kentucky.

He cannot be found in the 1850 Tazewell (and later Buchanan) County, VA, Federal Census, or in the 1860 Pike County, Kentucky, Federal Census. Thus, he could have been a Logan or McDowell County, West Virginia, resident. There were and still are a sizeable number of Daniels who live in the Tug Valley area of West Virginia.
