| Dicksonia fibrosa - Wheki-ponga IDENTIFYING FEATURES: * general features very similar to the Australian Dicksonia antarctica * crozier & upper surface of midrib of frond densely covered with fine brown persistent hairs (in D. antarctica the upper surface of the midrib is usually greenish to yellowy-green and without abundant hairs) * the tips of the pinnules tend to be somewhat prickly (particularly obvious when compared to D. antarctica) |
