Cyathea macarthuri (Subg. CYATHEA, sect. Cyathea)

IDENTIFYING FEATURES:
*  may be readily seen on Lord Howe Island (growing with C. robusta) in the valley between Intermediate Hill and Mt Lidgbird, along the lower sections of the track to Goat House Cave ... not dissimilar to C. australis (or C. dealbata) in general appearance, with persistent stipe bases on upper section of trunk at least, but trunk tends to be narrower than C. australis
*   fronds tend to be shiny, pale olive-green (very slightly paler on the backs, but certainly not significantly enough to imagine it being originally classified as C. dealbata), with a white cobwebby coating on main midribs
*  indusium saucer-shaped
