Cyathea celebica
Cyathea celebica (Subg. SPHAEROPTERIS, sect. Sphaeropteris, subsect. Fourniera)

IDENTIFYING FEATURES:
*  croziers with long pale scales and beneath this a covering of fine dark scales
*  underside of frond covered with a mat of very fine pale hairs
*  distinctive unfurling frond (also found in Cyathea leichhardtiana) with pinnules remaining like rows of beads, only uncurling when the rest of the frond is fully extended
*  rare fern of NE Queensland (also Malaysia)
