MOTIVE / FIELD OF RESEARCH:

          

Ø       Ion transport studies in some doped hydro gel and Alco gel system:

 

                                                1. Synthesis of Doped xerogel by sol-gel technique

2. Characterization by Impedance Spectroscopy, Coulometry, DTA/TGA, DSC, Polarization Measurement, IR, XRD &  SEM

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

Working since March 1996 in the general area of SOLID STATE IONICS / MATERIAL SCIENCE with the specific aim of “Ion transport studies in some doped hydro gel and alco gel system” prepared by sol-gel technique.

            The techniques used are:

 (I)        Impedance Spectroscopy, Coulometry, DTA/TGA, DSC, Polarization Measurement, Sol-Gel Thin film by thermal vapour evaporation technique, Polymer Solution Casting etc.

(II)                Surface morphological techniques: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)

(III)         Chemical Analysis techniques: X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Ultra-Violet Photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS), EDAX, and Secondary Ions Mass Spectroscopy (SIMS).

                        (IV)              Structural Analysis techniques: X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Infra-Red Spectroscopy (IR), Visible and Ultra-Violet Spectroscopy.
