Without a doubt one of the most talented guitarists ever to play, Jason made a name for himself in the speed metal band 'Cacophony' alongside future Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman when he was Just 17. Between the two albums Cacophony released, Jason released his First solo album. After Cacophony disbanded in 1989, 21 year old Jason joined David Lee Roth's solo band.
However, after joining Roth's band, Jason was struck with ALS (Lou Gerhigs Disease) and was told he would be dead within a few years. 10 years on, despite not being able to play, Jason is still alive and makes music with the help ofComputers.
You've all heard the name somewhere......
In 1983, the 20 year old Yngwie made the trip to America to kickstart his music career. After stints in Stealer and Alcatrazz, his first solo album was released in 1984. The blend of Heavy Metal and Classical melodies was a hit with musicians at the time. Yngwie hit the big time with 1987's 'Oddysey'.
In the 1990's and onwards, Yngwie's music has got much heavier. 2002's 'Attack' is a superb album and Yngwie has not jumped the nu-metal bandwagon, instead showing 2 fingers to trends and blasting out great metal. not only is he a superb guitarist, he is also a great showman, throwing his guitars around, doing scissorkicks and generally releasing the fockin' fyoory onstage (sorry, lol) .
