18th Annual Navy Bean Fall Festival


Saturday October 9th, 2004.




The 18th Annual Navy Bean Fall Festival will be held along the beautiful Ohio River located in Rising Sun, Indiana. Features area's only horse parade, also music, wonderful food, pony rides, crafts and home-cooked bean soup.


Vendor Information

We ask the crafts be of good quality and that no drug, tobacco or alcohol related items be displayed. The Chamber is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury, which may occur during the event. The booth rental charge is $35.00 for a 10’ x 10’, $55.00 for a 10’ x 20’ and $70.00 for a 10’ x 30’ space, this includes electric hook up if needed. You will need to provide your own table, coverings, if you need electric please bring the any items you may need, such as extension cords. We only provide the space for you to set up. If you require any special electrical adapters or any voltage besides the standard 110, please state this information so we may tend to your needs. Non-profit organizations are exempt and demonstrators should call for a special rate. The only requirement for becoming a demonstrator is you must demonstrate how to make your items. For example, someone who makes soap can set up and show the soap making process.

3rd Annual Silent Auction

Many great items have been graciously donated to raise money for the Ohio County Chamber of Commerce. Some of the items from 2003 included; two three month memberships to the Athletic Club, children’s books from UsBorne Books, horse hair pottery, round of golf at The Links, hotel stay at Grand Victoria Casino, hotel stay at Holiday Inn Express – Lawrenceburg, one free week of mole service from Aarrow Wildlife, filet framed art from Flowers by Vickie, two one year subscriptions to the Rising Sun Recorder just to name a few.

Bluegrass Squares and Taps

In 2003, the Bluegrass Squares and Taps dancers came up from Louisville Kentucky to preform. They were a huge hit and we hope to have them join us again this year!

Famous Navy Bean Soup

Come down and taste our famous Navy Bean soup prepared by Larry Bovard. Each bowl comes right out of the pot (seen above) where it has been simmered to perfection! Flavor filled corn bread is also available by the Ohio County Homemakers. In addition, if you are not a big fan of Navy Bean soup there will be hot dogs, metts, cheddar metts, brats, polish sausage, Italian sausage and hot cobbler.

Rural Route 2

Listen to the old time sounds of Bluegrass music. There will be plenty of room to sit down and enjoy the FREE show or get up and dance along! Bring a folding chair so you can kick back and enjoy the day.

Live D.J

From 4pm to 5pm is Kids hour! Bring your children and/or grandchildren down to compete for awards and prizes! Are you the best “Chicken Dancer”? Or maybe you prefer to be the best “Hokiepokier”. Whatever your style is we have a competition for you! Many ribbons and prizes to be awarded so be sure to stop by! Free D.J. service provided by Duane's 4 You D.J. service.

Back by popular demand! Live authentic demonstrators! Have you ever wondered how weavers weave? Or maybe how wood is transformed from its natural tree form to beautiful works of art? If so come down and be fascinated by the level of skill and complexity it takes to create these marvels.
