February 18, 2005

First let me just appologize for the lack of work I have done on this site in the last little while. It's a one man venture so it doesn't move too quick (and also the only content i have on this site is like walkthroughs and stuff and they take a long time to make). Anyways, I got FF Dawn of Souls up, it's the walkthrough but within a few weeks I'll have all the charts up (magic, weapon and armor charts). Also I'm still working on DW1 and I'm going to restart the 7th Saga after that.

January 13, 2005

Alright, so a quick update. Well I am in the process of making a few walkthroughs, Dragon Warrior (NES), 7th Saga (SNES) and Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls (GBA). Other than that, my new forum is on "The NES Future Forums" so you can hit that forum if you want to say something about the site, questions or whatever. Otherwise just join up, it's one of the only cool NES forums left.

***Games Added***

I've got The Little Mermaid (NES) and Mario's Time Machine (SNES) added to the archive. I also recovered Wizards and Warriors 2.

***New face of RIP Games***

The problem was that I didn't make this site all at once, I made it over a span of about 2 years or so. So the site itself is very inconsistent with itself...which isn't very user friendly. Hopefully this new look which will be applied to the rest of the pages (minus the game pages) will improve the site overall. Hopefully I can get it fully functional within the week.

***SMW2 Added***

I added Super Mario World 2 to the archive. It's still missing some stuff, I'll get that up as soon as possible.

October 30, 2004

***New Forum???***

Yeah today NES NATION FORUMS put up an RIP Games section. I'd like to thank them for that, "Thanks". A quick update for whats to come: SMBW2 Page, Dragon Warrior 1 page and a Mario In Time page.

***New Stuff Up For Sale***

I just realized that I had other Sega stuff to sell. I went game hunting and I got DW1 and Defender of the Crown. I might be trading Defender of the Crown for "Hydlide". Anyways, I already have DW1 so the copy I bought is now up for sale.

***FORUM***

If you haven't joined the forum...JOIN THE FORUM. Not much has gone on there recently I'll admit, but thats because it doesn't have too many members. So join so we can have the best nostalgic video game forum out there!

***Construction***

This site in the next while will be undergoing massive reconstruction. A lot of material that is on this site was created before I had a good idea about html.

***Forum***

After some thought I decided that I should reinstate a forum for this site. I was reluctant to do so because of the problems that I had before, but after seeing yet another NES forum fall to ashes I decided that I would make a new forum, one that you can count on being around for a while. Quite frankly I am sick of the politics in some of the other forums, so my goal is to make a forum thats more about the systems then "flaming" each other.

***Buy/Sell/Trade***

I added Wario's Woods to the buy/sell/trade section and soon I'll be selling MMX on E-bay. Lately I have been working on MM3 and Yoshi's Island. So you can expect those to be up on here soon.

July 18, 2004

***GARAGE SALE***

Yeah cause I am having a garage sale I updated the buy/sell/trade section. I'll probably update it again based on what I end up selling today. Now that I have some time on my hands I am going to work more on this site, so if you want to exchange links and stuff, feel free to e-mail me.

***TETRIS***

Fuck, it's been a while since I have been in here. Well, I added another MIDI, it's Tetris gone skate punk. Yeah Ernster's new site NGA has given me ambition to continue this site again.

March 24, 2004

***MM3***

I added tons of stuff to the MM3 page, so check it out.

March 7, 2004

***Guestbook***

Okay, so after some consideration I have put up a guestbook. So all the people who frequent this site can sign in it saying they did. I'm still working on an MM3 master page.

***Things to Expect!!!***

Here is a list of things that you should expect soon (school and music (band) has kept me busy, so sorry for the lack of updates)

  • Mega Man 3 information (I am going through the game again)
  • Top Man's stage bass line midi

February 12, 2004

***Foriegn Games***

I recently got 2 foriegn games, Mega Man 2 the european version (right from Germany) and Shadowgate from my buddy Jason (Holland). The Shadowgate cover is exactly the same, but the Mega Man 2 one is very different, I like it better than the American Version though. I haven't tried them out on my NES, chances are that they won't work, it says so right on them, but hey!

***Hibernation***

This site is kind of in a hibernation state, since I am very busy with school right now, but I hope to get back in the loop and add on some games soon.

February 7, 2004

***Correction***

I stated that my Mega Man X was going for $10, when it is advertised in my "buy/sell/trade" section for $7.50. So, it's going for $7.50.

***Collectors Tip #1: Mega Man Series***

The best thing I ever did was get the complete Mega Man series for NES. Every single one of the games is incredible, in fact, besides Final Fantasy, the Mega Man games are the best games you can possibly get for NES. I would definetly suggest to any collector that you should invest in any of the Mega Man games. E-Bay sells them for an average of $20 canadian (including S&H). You might get lucky like me and stumble across them in a pawn shop for $5.99. I suggest you pay no more than $15 for the actual cart though...or else you're talking $90+ for all 6. Well thats my collector tip for today. PS...I have Mega Man X for sale, I am willing to let her go for $10 canadian (+shipping and handling).

***Good Bye Forum***

After some consideration, I have decided that a forum is a pain in the ass to maintain, and I'd rather save myself the stress, especially since I am going back to school...so I canned the whole thing. I'll probably join up with some people on another forum.

***A quick way to lose a whole 4% of free hotmail account space***

Simply go to ALXNET and register for a free quiz. Now, don't get me wrong the quiz isn't bad, it is a little buggy though, but watch out, put you spam deflectors up, cause they'll ask you to enroll in every program with a seperate e-mail.

***Computer Controlled Rats...WTF!***

Yep, it's no bull they have begun to do this. I think it's sick (sick as in, criminal, not cool). Experimentation on animals is medieval, but it goes on...I'll let you decide here's the link: Computer Controlled Rats

***$1.50 Hike***

So I shipped a game off to an E-Bay client in December, actually, December 30th to be exact. The game weighed 0.131 Kg, and it was 24x19x3 cm. The cost came to $5.30 Canadian. I sent a game (.127 kg, 25x18x3) to another E-Bay client on January 29th and it came to $6.83 Canadian. The thing that was the most agrivating was the fact that I sent a game (0.134 Kg) with similiar size to Holland for $5.60, on the 16th of January! I asked the clerk to explain and she said that there was a hike. It's funny how the world works. A few extra bucks to fill your car with gas and the next thing you know, shipping prices go up 29%.

***Glitche in the school system***

This might not effect you so don't get scared: I went back to school for the first time in a while, I had spent the first semester in a Night School course. The problem is, when you don't show up for first semester they shoot your files into a "dead room". SO, the school thinks you don't exist and the computers compliment that. So when you show up the first day, you look in the cafe (or wherever) for your homeroom #, what the fuck? It's not there! It's not there cause to the computer you don't exist. SO I ended up waiting for a 1/2 hour in the cafe for me to even get in the guidance office. Then I waited a full hour for the counscellors to get a file ( a 5 minute trip). BUT, it can be avoided, just double check a few days prior to your return. BUT...it could probably be worse than my encounter, you may not get into the classes you wanted to get into. SO lookout for this.

***New Message Board***

Well, I have to hand it to them. They brought the board to a point where the best thing I should do is just start again. So, I did. I started again. I believe that this new format will be somewhat more annoying and less attractive to new users but, hopefully it does its job at screening flooders. Now in order to join you must send me an e-mail with a username and password that you want. XXXX, me, being the only MOD (no other MOD positions allowed) should help to reduce "inside jobs", or board attacks from the inside which cause much more damage than just the regular joe attack.

The damage on the board was extensive and done by NES FAT BOY, so I am starting a new board. Click the link for the new board.

***The plot to destroy R. I. P. Games: Exposed***
A few members of the NES Forums decided that they would destroy my site. Why? I don't know. I admit I was a stupid newbie at their forum who didn't pay attention to rules. But I changed. But people at the NES Forums hold a grudge I guess. It could have also been from the supposed "shit I was talking", a rumour sent around against me, to get more people involved I suppose. Or, even better Funk Master told me that "it was a lesson for talking shit". I did learn a lesson. That some people have nothing better to do with their time then fuck with others for rumours they heard. Watch your back, don't tust anyone! I also learned a valuable lesson when it comes to anything with the Net. Make a dozen passwords that you always change for all your things, cause you never know. Well, I'll sum it up, the plan was simple, to get close to me so I would reveal my password. Calogne tried making friends with me, asking me to make Mferv a mod of my baord and a staffer on my site, R. I. P. Games. Anyways the plan failed, especially if you are reading this =) . NES Monster and Flowing Mindspin were also ones to help ( i saw them admit to it in a chat). Here's a sample of the log:
UncalmApostle84: :D
UncalmApostle84: we should wait until all of us are in here again then do it >:D
Crgx82: yeh and get a few extras to help next time
Crgx82: like qix and claw :D

Rumours have it that Phantasy Star and Wierd Edsel were also part of it, but I couldn't trace anything to them in the chat. AND the guys in the chat tried to say that it was Buckeye and Jason who did it. SOMEONE'S OUT TO GET YOU BUCKEYE! Well thats it for now. The forum is back up and running.

January 29,2004

Security in the R. I. P. Games' forum has been upgraded due to a few obnoxious people. Oh well, had to test the MOD controls sometime. Thanks to Jason a second wave of malicious threads was prevented. In other news, I canned the NES Directory project due to a lack of time on my part.

January 26,2004

Here is Jason's logo contest entry:

January 19, 2004

I figured I'd enter the NES Forum logo contest, here we go

January 16, 2004

NES Directory has been updated, if you haven't submitted your site yet do so!

January 15, 2004

NES DIRECTORY is up and running. Click the link and hit "Information" to find out how you can have your site posted on the directory.

January 14, 2004

You might notice a few changes on this site, and you might even notice that if you click any of the links on the front page that some crazy thing happens where new windows open. BUT out of stangeness (X-Files) like, no other pages coded by me act this way. If you know why, e-mail me with the answer. OR you can make a post in the section of my forum "R. I. P. Games updates".

January 13, 2004

What's new? Well, for starters I added the new site button to the page. I made that from an okay program I found, Babarosa Gif Animator. I used the base picture that Turtle made me and then I just created a 24x24 circle filled it in with the color yellow (Pac Man) and fooled with it until I made him eat the logo. I am also fooling around with HTML, to try and create a good layout for this site. I fixed up this page, for people who have visited this site...that's a given. Thats about it, thanks for stopping in and I hope you find what it is you have come looking for. OH YEAH...one last thing, if you haven't checked out the message board, do it right now, I added a bunch of mini forums to it.
