have very fond band memories--road trip competitions(have
any of you touched KFC since?!); All-State band twice;
South Pacific pit orchestra. |
I
graduated from Augustana, and played in the band all
four years. This July I'll have been married to my
husband, Bill, for 19 years. Bill is also an Augie
grad but a few years before my time. We have a daughter,
Katie Jo, who will be 16 this year, and a son, Michael
who will be 7. Neither of them have red hair, for
which I am eternally grateful. Katie Jo is following
in my footsteps, playing flute and piccolo in the
Moline band. She takes lessons from my former flute
teacher! Michael loves sports like his Dad. When I'm
not being a wife and mom, I keep busy with volunteer
work, gardening, and our menagerie of rabbits and
guinea pigs. Sunbathing at the pool in high school
caught up with me in '01, when I had a malignant melanoma
removed. Luckily only surgery was required. |

It seems
like the years just kind of flew by. I have been in
the health field now for the last 25 years. I have
worked in different areas at Trinity West. I work
now in Cedar Rapids at the hospital there. When I am
not working I spend time with my 15 1/2 year old
daughter, Ashlee Marie. I am really proud of her to
show that I must have done my job as far as raising
her as a parent. She is involved in different things
at Davenort Central. Mainly to put it short when I
am not working I do mother/daughter activities with
her. I have many interests that I enjoy doing in my
spare time. Look forward to seeing everyone again.

After
graduating from the U of Montana I was a wildlife
biologist in the Peace Corps, serving two years in
mountains of Morocco (leopard research) and one year
in the rainforests of Cameroon (elephant, bat, and
biodiversity research). I did my master's at the U
of Minnesota, studying monkeys in Morocco, and conducted
my dissertation research on wolves in the River of
No Return Wilderness in Idaho. During my graduate
school years I also made three trips to Antarctica
to study seals. I finally bagged the professor route
and decided to become a science teacher. I entered
the Teach for America program and taught high-school
gang-bangers in California for three years. I moved
back to Montana in 2001 where I still teach. This
past year I toured Japan on an FMF Fulbright and took
17 students to Costa Rica to study sea turtles and
rainforest ecology. I'll be heading to the Galapagos
next year with 9 students. I'm also beginning a side
career in conducting educational workshops, and backpack,
fly-fish, whitewater raft, canoe, and ski whenever
I can! |

husband, Kevin, and I have been married for 15 years.
We have 2 boys, Ryan - 13 and Bryce - 11. I moved
to Rockford after college. My mom and most of my sisters
are still in the Q.C.'s so I get back now and then.
Life is busy but good in Rockford. Homeschooling is
work but fun. I do work part-time as a pharmacy tech
and enjoy that also. One boy is in to sports, the
other is in to everything else. He and I help run
the sound system at our church. It is nice to not
be that shy girl from high school any longer. |

don't think I can mention them. But seriously, parties
at the Andalusia slough, going to the Art institute
with Messrs. Dennis and Klatt, sophmore dances in
the girl's gym with the DJ who started with Rush's
2112, Concerts at the RKO, buying my first guitar,
and realizing at later schools just how many smart,
witty and attractive people were in the class of 1979. |
I
have been a litigation attorney for almost 18 years
and tried over 30 jury trials. Met my wife Terri at
the law firm. Although I have always sporadically
played my acoustic guitar, when I turned 40 I bought
an electric guitar and a Marshall amp. I am having
fun with it even though I am banished to the basement.
Trying to remain young at heart. Enjoy cooking and
consider myself pretty food at it. Am looking forward
to seeing all of you in August. |

will be celebrating our 22nd anniversary the day of
the reunion 8/21. Our kids are Emily(19), Anne(16),
Paul(13), Karen(11), Jenny(9), Andrew(7) - they are
all wonderful but growing up too fast. We live on the
North side of Chicago - very involved in the community
- and visit my parents in Rock Island several times a
year. This will be the first reunion I've

I'll
soon be ending my career in the Air Force, by retiring
after 24 years. I am looking forward to becomming
a civilian again. I've been married for the last 21
years to Lisa Grofman, from Chicago, and have two
wonderfully daughters, eight and eleven. If you ever
get to Oklahoma City, look me up, we live a few miles
south of Tinker AFB.

I
am the wife of John. The mom of 4 boys: Eric (22),Jack
(20), Adam (16) who is attending RIHS and playing
football and baseball at Rocky and Blake (5). I had
a dance studio in Milan for 18 years and now work
at Arrowhead Ranch. With Adam at Rocky I am reconnecting
with a lot of old Rocky friends! Life is good!!!

I
guess it would have to be the time I spent at band camp
and as drum major for the rocky band Jr. year asst.
and Sr. year Drum major. That was such a major part
of my musical experiance I will never forget! I have
met so many nice people in the band and it seams we
all can never forget those days. I also remember the
training from the boss "Dave Holcomb" who
told me I would never make it in music.(He only told
me that to push me harder) Thanks Dave! Look at me now.
I got a lot from summer band camps at the Univercity
of Iowa and still talk about it to this day. Got my
first REAL kiss under the stairwell after the pep band
played a game....you know who you are...LOL I miss those
days...but I'm glad I had the music program I did...
Bus trips... met my first wife in the band... all in
all it really was the best time in my life! |
After
high school I joined the USMC in Cal. where I played
lead trumpet in the marching band and jazz band. Baritone
horn in the concert band. Was married to Patti Huisman
during this time. She played sax in the Rocky band.
Moved back home after 4 years. Got devorced (my fault)
and went on the road for the next 8 years with a band
from K.C. touring the country. Got married again and
moved to Austin where I have been since '92. I now play
keyboards in the top R&B band in Austin. GREAT BAND!

Wow,
how can you name them all - cheerleading (Don't forget
that memorable bus trip to E. St. Louis and the suspensions
that followed! And, sorry about the arm Debbie!); open
lunch hour and 7 unexcused absences (WHAT were the school
administrators thinking?!); football games; building
homecoming floats; hitting every curb in RI - you KNOW
Sandy!; Bruds & Murphy's (can you say raid?); graduation.

After
leaving RI and heading for Los Angeles, swearing I would
never return to the Midwest, I have been blessed to
live in San Diego (where my family followed and still
lives), to South Bend, Indiana, to Cleveland, and we
just moved to a small town south of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
My husband, Ed and I have 4 children (Zach 20, Ariel
12 and twins, Claudia and Chloe 9.) After being a paralegal
in LA and San Diego, I traded for a more positive job
of being a fitness instructor and youth sports referee.
I volunteer at school and at Legal Aid . . . when I'm
not playing taxi driver to my girls! Can't wait to see
everyone again! |

three months off my junior year to travel Western Europe
with my family.

married Bill Brown in 2000. We have 18-month old triplet
boys: Andrew Connor, Alexander James, and Shaun Patrick.
We have three dogs: Comet, Schotzi, and Tauzer. We are
living out in the country. We both do software support
and programming from home. I am also an Independent
