A NIGHT WALK ALONG THE HEYSEN TRAIL
MARCH 2005
For some time, Helen and I had been toying with the idea of a night walk with Brady and Cooper, through the bush. We put the idea to our friends, and they all jumped at the idea, so one warm Friday evening at the end of March, we met the Dickson, Trehearne and James families at Woodhouse and did a night walk along the Heysen Trail to Bridgewater, finishing conveniently at the Bridgewater Pub. As we arrived at the start of the walk, a strong wind started to blow, and showers were forecast. Despite the weather prediction, we had a great walk through the Woodhouse property, the Mount Lofty Golf Course, the Mount George Conservation Park (this bit involved some hills) and then along Cox's Creek to Bridgewater. Just as we arrived at the Hotel, the rain arrived too, and we spent the rest of the evening over a few drinks in the (covered) beer garden while the kids played - luckily we had the beer garden to ourselves!
