The American Eagles Marching Band is very active representing American High School and the Fremont Unified School District with pride wherever it goes. The band has traveled to such places as Santa Cruz, Cupertino, Merced, as well as performed all over the East Bay, from San Jose to Berkeley, and almost everywhere in between. Students are committed to the pursuit of excellence in performance and have been awarded many trophies and received much praise from the school and the community. Their competitiveness is only outmatched by their camaraderie. Many feel that band is a family. Mr. Wong feels lucky that he can teach students for four years and see their musical and personal growth over such a long period of time.

Below is a list of activities the band does in the fall.

Newark Days Parade & Pep Band
The band's first parade is their longest. We will also hold our Parade-a-thon at the same event, where students get pledges for each time the march is performed.

SJSU High School Band Day
The band will perform at the football game in San Jose, in a combined band field show. Lunch will be provided by SJSU.

Football Field Show
This will the band's first performance for their fellow students.

Band Mini-camp & Football Field Show
The band will get to re-visit band camp as we make our final preparations for the marching season. They will also perform at the football game, this evening.

Homecoming Football Field Show
The band will perform at the annual Homecoming Football game.

Halloween Parade (optional) & Independence Field Show (mandatory)
Members of the band will perform at the annual Candlelighters Halloween Parade. Students will dress in Halloween costume. Food, drinks, and tickets to the Ghost House are typically provided. The band will travel to San Jose in the evening to compete in field show competition.

Foothill Parade & Field Show
This is a parade and field show competition, in Pleasanton. This event will last all day.

11-11 – Veteran’s Day Parade
We will perform at the Veteran’s Day Parade, in downtown San Jose.

Fairfield Tournament of Champions
This last performance of the parade and field show is the culmination of all the hard work and dedication the students have put in since band camp in August. This year, we will also compete in concert competition.

Fri. - Niles Festival of Lights
The band has been asked to perform at the Niles Festival of Lights, for the 5th year in a row.

Various Pep Band performances occur from November to February at American High School. Listen for new tunes to be introduced by the band during those games!

Oakland Holiday Parade - Comcast America's Children's Parade
This parade will give the band a chance to get on TV!
