bless·ed (blsd) also blest (blst)
adj.

    1. Worthy of worship; holy.
    2. Held in veneration; revered.
  1. Blessed Roman Catholic Church. Used as a title before the name of one who has been beatified.
  2. Bringing happiness, pleasure, or contentment.
  3. blessed Used as an intensive: I don't have a blessed dime.
  4.

    Who are the blessed?

To be blessed is to be happy, so in the verses below one could change the word blessed to happy. To be happy is to be in a state of contentment not always pleasure, Paul said he learned to be content in what ever state he was in that did not always mean he enjoyed the conditions such as prison he was in. Contentment is a sense of peace that God gives us allowing us to know he is in charge and that all things will work out. If I was to be hung out over the edge of a cliff I may not like being there but so long as I could trust the rope, and knew I would only be there a short time I could be content to see the view.

When you are being faced by people hurting you and calling you names it is hard to say that you are enjoying that time in your life. Yet you can be at peace inside and content and happy that its because of your walk with God.

(Mat 5:3 KJV) Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Happy is that Christian that knows he needs more from God and is never full. Have you seen those who have the attitude that they know everything. Therefore, no matter what you try to show them they cannot be led, they cannot see the forest for the trees. They often are those that are blind trying to lead the blind. It is a great gift for a person to be able to look in the mirror and see that they need more. We all must never stop learning for when we do we stop growing we will die. There is joy that comes from learning and growing; we need to realize that no matter how much we learn there is a new mystery on the next page of Gods word. I have learned over the years in stead of getting smarter I think I find I know less then I thought I knew. For the more, you study his word and his will the more you find doors that were hidden. So happy is the man that see the challenge in Gods work and realizes that even if you look and can say I have led a 100 to the Lord it is not enough. Then there are the fruits we are to have that are the good ones. I look in the mirror and I see that I lack and need to work harder on keeping my tree pruned. It is why Paul said that though he was perfect with God, (had a right heart with God); he did not count himself that way but strove for that heart condition. In one place, he said he died daily, we are under constant attack by the things of this world. It reminds me of a apple tree we used to have, I could go out and spray for bugs on one day go back the next and find them again trying to get at that sweet good fruit. Satan attacks the good nature God gives us and we must work at it daily to build it up and keep it strong. I will tell this confession to you, many years in serving God I was very careful to try and protect my attitudes and integrity so that no one could say I did anything inappropriate where the opposite sex was concerned. I think I worked at it so hard that I did not believe it was a area that I could ever be hurt or fall. Then when the time came those things were not going well with in me. The group (association of churches) sent me a letter and said we are removing you from our roles. Not because I sinned but because I trusted someone else to send in my report for me and they failed to do so, or did and it did not make it. The group did not try to contact me to see if I had or not, just out the door. I was hurt so bad, I had been a member in good standing for 20 years, and pastor of one of their church's for 17 years. Then I was in the process of trying to get my wife to move to where I was at and things were going down hill between us. A person who was a friend and fellow laborer in church work wanted to get together and talk. People started to talk those who knew me and the stands I took in his word could not wait to tear me down. I confess I brought it on my self because I should of known better, yet I never expected everyone to believe the worst in me. See I thought that they knew me and what I lived for so well I had become over confidant. I though I was like a well that was full and could never go dry. I went dry in a hurry after that. In addition, the lesson in this verse came home to me. We have to always no matter how right we live, no matter how strong, no matter what we do we can not allow ourselves to see our well full but always see it as needing more. Jesus warned of the thief who would break and steal if we were not watching, I stopped watching, and to this day, the truth does not matter to those who chose to believe the lies. Moreover, those lies led me farther away from God as those I had relied on failed me. When my wife left, the one person I thought I could count on, when my kids turned on me, I almost lost the war and let Satan win. You can sit now and condemn or say it could not happen to me, you were just weak, yes I was, but I thought I was strong. Beware when you think you stand, beware when you think you are rich in grace and gifts, beware when you know the answers you are not lost.

Once my brother and I went out in the woods, we thought we could find our way home easy but as night came upon us we found we no closer to home then when we started. As the darkness appeared we looked out through the woods, saw a distant light, and walked toward that light until we found our way home. Jesus is our light and if you find you are lost although you thought you knew the way, just go the light my friend.

1 Cor 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

1 Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Mat 5:3: Verses 3-12. Our Saviour here gives eight characters of blessed people, which represent to us the principal graces of a Christian. 1. The poor in spirit are happy. These bring their minds to their condition, when it is a low condition. They are humble and lowly in their own eyes. They see their want, bewail their guilt, and thirst after a Redeemer. The kingdom of grace is of such; the kingdom of glory is for them. 2. Those that mourn are happy. That godly sorrow which worketh true repentance, watchfulness, a humble mind, and continual dependence for acceptance on the mercy of God in Christ Jesus, with constant seeking the Holy Spirit, to cleanse away the remaining evil, seems here to be intended. Heaven is the joy of our Lord; a mountain of joy, to which our way is through a vale of tears. Such mourners shall be comforted by their God. 3. The meek are happy. The meek are those who quietly submit to God; who can bear insult; are silent, or return a soft answer; who, in their patience, keep possession of their own souls, when they can scarcely keep possession of anything else. These meek ones are happy, even in this world. Meekness promotes wealth, comfort, and safety, even in this world. 4. Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness are happy. Righteousness is here put for all spiritual blessings. These are purchased for us by the righteousness of Christ, confirmed by the faithfulness of God. Our desires of spiritual blessings must be earnest. Though all desires for grace are not grace, yet such a desire as this, is a desire of God's own raising, and he will not forsake the work of his own hands. 5. The merciful are happy. We must not only bear our own afflictions patiently, but we must do all we can to help those who are in misery. We must have compassion on the souls of others, and help them; pity those who are in sin, and seek to snatch them as brands out of the burning. 6. The pure in heart are happy; for they shall see God. Here holiness and happiness are fully described and put together. The heart must be purified by faith, and kept for God. Create in me such a clean heart, O God. None but the pure are capable of seeing God, nor would heaven be happiness to the impure. As God cannot endure to look upon their iniquity, so they cannot look upon his purity. 7. The peace-makers are happy. They love, and desire, and delight in peace; and study to be quiet. They keep the peace that it be not broken, and recover it when it is broken. If the peace-makers are blessed, woe to the peace-breakers! 8. Those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake are happy. This saying is peculiar to Christianity; and it is more largely insisted upon than any of the rest. Yet there is nothing in our sufferings that can merit of God; but God will provide that those who lose for him, though life itself, shall not lose by him in the end. Blessed Jesus! how different are thy maxims from those of men of this world! They call the proud happy, and admire the gay, the rich, the powerful, and the victorious. May we find mercy from the Lord; may we be owned as his children, and inherit his kingdom. With these enjoyments and hopes, we may cheerfully welcome low or painful circumstances.

(Mat 5:4 KJV) Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

How can you be happy when your heart is broken? We can find happiness in comfort from God that what ever we face he is there and the best things for us is what he will allow. When we lose a loved one to deaths cold hand, we can know that if their heart was right God we shall see them again. If they were not right then I hope you can smile and say I loved them and did all I could do win them to the Lord. Regardless of why we hurt God is there to heal us and mend our hearts.

Those churches that are doing Gods will is a place you can find hope and peace. Yet I am sure that all to often you find no help there today. Do not give up, for you have in your bag of tools one which can help you find peace and the right family of God to worship with, PRAY. Pray is our toot to make petitions to God, to tell him what we need and why. It is also our line to listen to him. If you can learn to listen to God's spirit in you he will give you peace. Have you ever noticed that Jesus called his spirit the comforter? It is his way of always being with you so you do not face any trial or worry or care in this life without him.

The one thing I noticed that often we know we have the tools and the power to have victory but refuse to use them. Did you know that mourning is a tool? It is a needed way for us to find release from our worry, and grieve those who go on before we are ready to let them go. The word means to have sorrow in the heart, if you never felt sorrow what kind of person would you be. We should feel sorrow when we hurt someone or miss the mark God has for us in our life. We should feel sorrow when we fail or come short of the Glory of God. It is that mourning that helps to draw us toward the light and comfort of love.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

(Mat 5:5 KJV) Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

To be meek is to have a lowly spirit about yourself. We should never think we are better then others because we have been in church longer, gone to college, have more things or wealth. I see it a lot in the circle of preachers one will say well how would you know you haven't studied or have a degree like mine. I see it in church, why should they have a vote in what carpet to buy I put more money in the church then they make in a year. Who does that preacher think he is telling me that is sin, I have been around a lot longer and no more then he will ever know. I am the teacher of this class I dare you to think you know more then me. I am the Pastor and this church will be run how I want it run. And I am sure you have heard those things and many more. Well ever time I hear that kind of statement I think of this verse. No wonder there are so many unhappy church members, no wonder so many pastors are taking their own life. It no wonder that doctors are making millions of those facing depression. Meekness is another tool we have it is not a sign of weakness or of being weak. It takes a very strong person to stand on right and do it with a meek sense about them self.

If you can learn to lead and still be thought of as a tenderhearted person, one who puts others first, that people listen too because you care about them, then you are on the way to learning real meekness. Jesus was meek and lowly but was he not strong, did he not call sin a sin? Did he not take stands on the issues? Are we not told to be such as he was. He was a man of humility and patient and this too is what we are to be.

    meek (mk)
    adj. meek·er, meek·est

  5. Showing patience and humility; gentle.
  6. Easily imposed on; submissive.

Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

1 Tim 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

2 Tim 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

(Mat 5:6 KJV) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Happy is the one that hungers and thirst after what? RIGHTEOUSNESS To day seems to me people always are seeking after something, but mostly things. How much time is really spent in seeking to be right with God. Being right with God is more then about the things we do or things we say its about a attitude in our hearts and minds a oneness with him. When I first got out of college and went to work the guy I was put to work with was so much a perfectionist nothing I did made him happy. He was on me so much I hated going to work, then he could flip and really be nice, but it made everyday where I hated going in. I thought about quitting but I needed to work and I was learning a lot from him. After many months I noticed that the relationship was changing, he wasn't on me so much and we actualy were having good talks and fun. One of the reasons why was I was learning to hand him the tool he needed before he asked, or could almost tell you what was wrong before he could and I was using his same type of thinking to locate and repair problems. I had changed not him, my attitude had changed, if we allow God to work in us that kind of change happens, we want to think like Christ and do his will but it becomes easy because we are molded into the right attitude. The more you seek to learn his word and study the more he will reveal to you, the more questions you ask, the more you will dig. And every time you find the answer and feel him confirm it in your heart the more full of happiness you feel.

Neh 9:15 And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

Prov 19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

Luke 6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

(Mat 5:7 KJV) Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

mer·cy (mûrs)
n. pl. mer·cies

  1. Compassionate treatment, especially of those under one's power; clemency.
  2. A disposition to be kind and forgiving: a heart full of mercy.
  3. Something for which to be thankful; a blessing: It was a mercy that no one was hurt.
  4. Alleviation of distress; relief: Taking in the refugees was an act of mercy.

Mercy is the root to being able to forgive others. Mercy is a fruit that comes from with in the heart, a heart that is filled with love will also be on that is filled with mercy. Compassion is nothing more then caring, and love is caring, mercy is the direct result of that caring. We did not earn forgiveness of our sins; in fact, our sin made us guilty and worthy of death. God in his mercy sent his son to die in our stead, and Jesus in his mercy for us willing died for us.

One of the few preachers that I have ever known to this day holds my greatest respect was a man who lived what he preached and showed his love by his mercy. He seemed to find a way to always be happy and I shall never forget a lesson he taught me and have tired to use it well over the years. There was a couple in the church that had learned he was tender hearted and cared for others. I would watch them use him, often asking for money or food or help to fix the car when in fact they had enough to meet the need. I went this man of God, one day while we were out doing some church work and said, "Brother Off do you not know that this family is taking advantage of you and that you are doing with out to give to them, robbing from your own family while they laugh at how easy you are used." Boyd turned to me and said, "Rich, I don't answer to God for them or what they do with the help I give, I don't even think of it as being used or not, I leave that to God and them, so long as I do what I must in life, I am blessed many times over." This is a great message and one I saw him live and practice repeatedly. I saw all kinds of things come against him and I never saw him refuse to do all he could for anyone. This is a man who knew his calling and lived it. He never asked man to give him anything but was always giving. Jesus did not beg for money, or put a price on his healing, he gave, and he gave forgiveness with out demanding a cost.

If you love God and want to be forgiven and him show you his mercy then you too must show mercy. Many folks really struggle with living a right life with God. In addition, there are many reasons, but here is one that is a major cause. If we are to ever have the mind and life of Christ in us, we must have the attitudes and his thinking in us by habit without thought. You will never be strong in God and hold bitterness and hurt feelings, hate or envy in your heart.

Mat 18:26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

Mat 18:27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

Mat 18:31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

(Mat 5:8 KJV) Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Happy is the one that has a clean and right heart for they shall see God. Pure is to be clean and right with God, there is only one way to remove the old sin and hurt our of our life, there is only one power that can take the pain of a lost loved one or a broken marriage or lose of from the pit of drinking, lust, hate, evil, murder, lying, drugs and on and on, we can be made new and sin removed by Christ. He gives us a new heart and its clean and pure and holy, innocent of all wrong doing. Pure means not to be mixed with any other thing, love for one another and God must not be mixed with harboring ill feelings. Mercy must be given freely with out from the heart and not by the law, pure only the will of God being your blood. I wish today that Gods people would take a blood transfusion of the blood that was shed on the cross. To have a pure heart you must do some things, one is to seek God and his will. Two is to learn to pray and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. Three is to learn do all things by love, through love. Four is to look at your life and heart daily and seek to rid it of any thing that might contaminate your heart. Five is to learn to trust God and his love for you. Six is to have faith, to know Gods will in your life and do his bidding. Seven is to be a giver, give out of love and compassion. Eight is to live the word of God, study it so that you know how to live and why. Nine is to share your love and gifts freely with those around you. Ten is to learn to think and have the same attitude that Christ did in all things. The making pure comes from Christ the staying pure is up to you and living in the Spirit of God.

Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Psa 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psa 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Psa 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Psa 24:4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Psa 24:5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Prov 20:9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

Prov 20:10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.

2 Tim 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

1 Pet 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

1 Pet 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

(Mat 5:9 KJV) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

We are the ones called upon to all we can to make peace. If in your home life or your church life Gods wants us to learn to live in peace. We fight over such small things and every fight leaves a scar. Our nations stand in war so often because of greed not right and wrong. I have seen so many churches tore apart and people hurt some never coming back to peace with God over such silly things. I would rather see God allow a storm to come and tear a building down then to see the fighting in side over things like the carpet, or who can be the song leader and on such matters. God's house was to be a house of prayer not a place of war. Homes are to be our place of refuge and love, when they become battle grounds they become places we hate to go. Every fight with a wife or husband or the kids leave wounds some which never heal. We must learn to control our anger, control the content of our hearts. There are things that in fact we must be willing to take a stand on and if it comes to a fight so be it. How do you know when to do that? One big part of that answer is in the motivation from our hearts. Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Does the thing you are taking a stand on meet the requirements of this verse?

Does the thing benefit God or you, who will it bring glory too? 1 Cor 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Most of the things we fight about is not the issues that would please God but things that please us. I remember once watching a whole church fall apart because someone didn't wear the clothes for a practice to a church play they wanted them to wear. We fight because some one didn't meet our expectations, or made us feel rejected.

Let me say here on issue that always bothers me is when a church begins to fight over who the Pastor should be or when its time to change. If the church is with out a shepherd is not Christ the head shepherd, do you not think if you pray and seek Gods will he will not send the person he wants for you. And if you prayed, and felt in your hearts this was the man God wanted you to have, then by what right do you have to wait a year or two and toss him out because he didn't do what you wanted in the way you wanted it? If you have a Pastor and you feel like its time for him to go, then you need to seek God and first make sure its not you in need of the prayer, but if he is not living according to the word or preaching the word then let God remove him and he will. The problem is we try to tell God how he should do things, we want to be the boss instead of the servant and it leads to fighting and trouble. Its true that you can love someone and not like them, we must in our church families and homes learn to like those around us and do the things that would make them like us too.

1 Chr 12:17 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

Rom 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 Cor 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

1 Cor 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

(Mat 5:10 KJV) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

per·se·cute (pûrs-kyt)
tr.v. per·se·cut·ed, per·se·cut·ing, per·se·cutes

  1. To oppress or harass with ill-treatment, especially because of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or beliefs.
  2. To annoy persistently; bother.

This is one of the most misunderstood words in the Bible. Often I heard teachers say things like that to be persecuted you have to be in prison or killed. If you serve God and live holy you will be persecuted (harassed or ill treated) because of your life. The thing is don't be surprised when you find those that do this too you is not the world, often not the lost in the world at all. They may well tend to respect and want what you have, its your family and church that will be the ones that come nearest to hurting you the most. So what do you do when this happens? Eph 6:13-14 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Your faith will be put to the test, you will find that your strength will almost be gone, you will have done all you know to do, then stand let God do the work. How much better our life will be when we let God take over our battles and learn to trust in him and his will for us.

Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

1 Cor 4:12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

2 Cor 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

2 Cor 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

2 Cor 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

(Mat 5:11 KJV) Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Major key word here is falsely, funny how often someone is so upset and angry when nothing was told that was not true. We as Gods people must live a holy life to the best of our abilities and as we grow it will get easier.

When we find we have messed up and made a mistake do all we can to make it right. Ask both man and God for forgiveness and go forward. Do not look back, often we are tore down so often and hurt so much because we allow ourselves to look back.

(Mat 5:12 KJV) Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

I ask you now to consider this in addition to all that has been said. All of the things said above work hand in hand with those things called the fruits of the Spirit or a one could say those that are Christians. These things are all attitudes, that is the to say the way our minds work and how our body displays our thinking. When we have love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance as our way of thinking the things spoken of by Jesus are natural for us to do. So how do we get these things in a hear that has been conditioned by life to be all the opposites to those good things? You must be born again and experience a heart change. Then you must allow the Holy Spirit to work in you and keep you. Why would you not want to be a person that has these attitudes in your life? Why would you not want to be good and feel love and give it? Yes it will require work, yes it will require pray, faith, trust, study but the end reward is worth the labour. Are these things required of you, YES. This the nature of your heart and is a must to enter into Gods new world. God will not allow in to the new world the things that caused the first war in heaven. Thus if you have the nature of Satan you are not acceptable. God will and does give you ever chance to change and he provides you will all tools to change and make that a lasting change. The choice now comes down to you, you can have a life that is his and go to heaven, or you can reject him and his will and go to the lake of fire. Seems like a easy choice to me, so why then do you chose to live a life that if full of sin and an attitude of Satan. There is no shades of gray, your heart is either right with God or its not. You know which is the case and its up to you to make the choice. You can say you love God, call yourself a Christian but if your attitude is not such as those mentioned here, you deceive yourself and will be lost.

attitude

n 1: a complex mental orientation involving beliefs and feelings and values and dispositions to act in certain ways; "he had the attitude that work was fun" 2: position or arrangement of the body and its limbs; "he assumed an attitude of surrender" 3: a theatrical pose created for effect; "the actor struck just the right attitude" 4: position of aircraft or spacecraft relative to a frame of reference (the horizon or direction of motion)
