I drove up to see BVA's solo performance the Saturday after the State Theater show. Brian played in the music section at the top floor of the Border's on State Street to a crowd of about 50 people. I was standing at the front, to the side, and had a really great view.  The whole experience of being that close was pretty exciting for me, the little back-woods girl from Indiana. The set was great-- He played all my favorites, including "Half a Mind," "Colorful" and "Reverand Girl," plus very cool acoustic versions of "Hero" and "Never Let You Down." The highlight of the show for me was the final song, a very moving cover of The Beatles "Something" that came just a few days after George Harrison's passing.

Afterwards, Brian was very gracious and signed autographs for everyone who wanted them. I was able to get my CD cover signed and get a photo with him (which became my prized possesion for a while there-- I showed it to everyone.)
