QUICK FAQS ABOUT ME
1) First of all, who are  you?
A. I’ll try to keep it brief. I’m the Reverend Achtung Baby here in cyber-land. I’ve been preaching U2’s word ever since I was a member of CompuServe way back in 1995, and continued to be the Rev during my stint in AOL-land and now currently reside in MSN-ville. I’ve been a U2 fan for 20+ years now and they are, for obvious reasons, my all-time favorite band. I obtained my Reverend-hoodship after 15 years of faithful U2 following and I’m damn proud of that.

2) What’s so special about U2?
A. Okay, you don’t really expect me to answer this in a few measly sentences, do you? I mean, hell, I can write a whole book about that. All I can really say is U2's very special to me and have been like a friend to me throughout my life. I know this sounds weird, but it’s really not. The lyric to their songs, their heartfelt concert shows, their community services, and etc. etc. is what separates them from other bands. The fact that they’ve passed the test of time with flying colors means that I know I’m not the only one who feels this way about them. The advice I can give you is to you yourself look up info about them in any of the thousands of available U2 fan sites (links) and read up on what other fans have to say about them, and then you’ll know the answer to this question.

3) Is it true that Adam Clayton is your favorite band member?
A. Yes, that is the truth. Adam “The Shit” Clayton (like I like to call him) is simply the coolest man to ever walk on this Earth. If you’ve seen him play his bass at any of their shows or videos you’ll see what I mean. If I was gay I’d shag him rotten, he’s THAT cool. The thing about Adam is that with his bass he adds this whole other dimension to their songs, and along with Larry, make up an incredible backbone that supports anything Edge throws at it. And besides, since he’s famous for shagging super models that in itself earns my deepest respects. And also, let’s be honest, he’s a beautiful man. Adam, I salute you!

4) I’ve heard you write poetry, is this true?
A. Ah yes, I’m glad you asked that! That is correct, I do indeed write a poem every now and then. I’m a sentimental bastard who sometimes can’t keep his emotions on check and must write them down on occasions, but rest assure that I’ll be posting some of them up (even though they’re non-U2 related, but you don’t mind, right?) in the near future, so keep checking back.

5) Any truth to the rumor that you’re a genius?
A. Well now, I wouldn’t call myself a genius or anything like that… My IQ is in fact higher than the average, but that doesn’t stop me from talking to the little people, so you mere mortals don’t have anything to worry about, I won’t snub you if we ever meet.

6) Do you have siblings, and if so, are they also U2 fans?
A. I do have siblings. I have an older sister in her mid-30s (I don’t know why the government allows people that old to run loose in society), and a younger one who’s 22. My eldest sister claims to like U2, but she don’t fool me. She’s what I call a quasi-fan, meaning she likes 2 or 3 of their songs and that’s about it. Oh, but she would shag Bono though, she finds him sexy. My little sister is pretty much that same way but instead of shagging Bono she’d shag Larry. So there you have it, not only am I the middle child, but also the only male offspring who was raised by a pack of women, so now you see why I’ve been in therapy for the past 11 years.

7) Where are you from?
A. I’m from Bolivian descent who was born in Hollywood, CA but raised in Mexico and Japan. I know, I’m confused, too.

8) How many U2 items do you own?
A. I take it by items you mean anything U2-related, right? I have 37 of their Cds (that includes their albums, singles, imports, and live concerts), 7 books about them, 3 t-shirts, 4 posters, 2 calendars, 1 condom (slightly used), 3 DVDs and 6 videos, and I believe that’s about it. By the way, I was kidding about the condom being used, I’m not a sicko like that.

9) Have you ever met those 4 lads?
A. I have yet to meet them, per se. I mean, I have seen them in person a number of times (at their concerts), and I even touched Adam’s arm while they were walking through the aisle towards the stage at their Popmart Tour, and I’ve spoken to them on the radio in 1992 when they came here and somehow my call went through. And that’s as close to meeting them as I’ve gotten.

10) What’s your real name?
A. What do you care? All you need to know is I’m the Reverend Achtung Baby (Rev, for short). For those of you who actually know me and know my real name, well more power to you; but for the rest of you, you can call me Rev.

11) Do you speak any other languages?
A. I indeed do. Besides English, I speak Spanish perfectly and I still remember enough Japanese to get me in trouble. So signing my Guestbook or e-mailing me in any of these languages will be perfectly okay.

12) What’s your favorite song?
A. My favorite song just happens to be a U2 song, what a coincidence, huh? Like I wrote somewhere else on my web site, I love “So Cruel”. This is song #6 from their Achtung Baby album, and it’s just a beautiful piece of art. There’s a tie for second place between “One” and “Kite”.

13) Why don’t you have pics of yourself on the site?
A. This isn’t a web site about me, it’s about U2, so let’s keep focused here people. This is my tribute to them, not to me. If the demand is there for me posting up a pic, then as soon as someone donates me a scanner I’d be more than happy to scan one and grace this site with it. I mean, you gotta give the people what they want, right? I’m all for that.
