"Shamanistian Poetry"

"Enlightenment"
By Rev. Patrick E. Ravenschild

Verse one

The sun shone brightly; he came to visit me today. My path was shiny along my narrowing way. Illumination is what he brings my soul each day. Thank you Great Spirit, for you will never go away.

Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon fell in love and married. She gave birth to our Mother the Earth, and allowed for our sustenance.

Verse two

Once upon a time, before so many stopped caring, everyone who lived gave a little something back to Mother. What has gone wrong with us? In all of our selfishness we're murdering Mom.

Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon fell in love and married. She gave birth to our Mother the Earth and allowed for our sustenance.

"I'm forever loved"
Lyrics by Rev. Patrick E. Ravenschild

Verse one

Grandfather Sun kisses the trees as he shines brightly through the leaves. The voice of the wind is speaking to me in her breezes. Thank you Lord and Lady for this awesome world in which I am a part of something so wondrous. For this and the love you give me, my attitude is always one of gratitude.

Chorus

Thank you my Lord and Lady for this outlook you gave. I do so love and praise you and I will never stray. You gave to me the faith I have and always guide my path. I know that I am always and forever loved.

Verse two

I know that you accept my thanks, for my heart does swells bright and gay. In everything you've done for me, and all that you are doing, even if I lost my faith you would patiently wait.

Chorus

Thank you Lord and Lady for this outlook you gave. I do so love and praise you and I will never stray. You gave to me the faith I have and always guide my path. I know that I am always and forever loved.

Verse three

Everything I see around me makes my faith increase. Though I often fret for how to make ends meet, as I meet the blinding dark of night, when the time is right you will bring me to the light. I look around and all about me. In all that you've created I can see your face and hear you speak.

Chorus

Thank you Lord and Lady for this outlook you gave. I do so love and praise you and I will never stray. You gave to me the faith I have and always guide my path. I know that I am always and forever loved.

"The Rape of the Mother"
Lyrics by Rev. Patrick E. Ravenschild.

Verse one

Our mother used to be a world who didn't change, unless there was a need. She caused enormous sheets of ice to cover large portions of her skin as a ritual cleansing. Humanity is blight upon the Mother's skin. Most of us are suicidal in our lust to kill our mother. Most of us don't care.

Chorus

It really makes me angry. It makes me feel quite bold. With so many raping Mother, she needs some peace of soul. We have no peace of mind as long as this continues. The children have no future, for they will have no menus.

Verse Two

The Mother is quite powerful, yet she is also fragile. The children will be saved if we will save our Mother. While we destroy our forests we kill our children's future. They will need the air to breathe. Shall we watch them die?

Chorus

It really makes me angry. It makes me feel quite bold. With so many raping Mother she needs some peace of soul. We have no peace of mind as long as this continues. The children have no future, for they will have no menus.

"Sun and Moon Song"
Lyrics by Rev. Patrick E. Ravenschild

The sun is dimming slowly, away out west.
At times it takes forever to close the day.
At times it takes an eon.
At times it feels I'll never see the sun arise.

The moon is hanging far up and away out there.
I see her glowing red and with an angry wrath.
The Earth has got no gravity.
She waits to feel her mood change to a yellow cast.
And humans are just relics of the distant past.

"With the Wild Trees of Pine"
Lyrics by Rev. Patrick E. Ravenschild

Verse one

With the wild trees of pine, where the sun does dimly shine, is where I'll go when life is rough and I feel and I feel that I might die. I talk to them and hear them speak. Their great wisdom they give freely.

Verse two

When I'm burning in the scorching sun, I look for wild trees of pine. Their branches spread out over me, cooling, fragrant, green and shady. With the wild trees of pine, where the sun does dimly shine, is where I'll go when life is rough and I feel that I might die. I talk to them and here them speak. Their great wisdom they give freely.

"Autumnal Inspiration"
By Rev. Patrick E. Ravenschild

Verse one

A chill has come.
It's in the air.
It crept in.
I was unaware.

Verse two

From lack of rain,
The leaves don't change,
But to brown, brittle, dry and crumbling.

Verse three

Not as normal,
Wet with sap and changing color,
Crimson, gold and orange.

Verse four

They linger not upon the branches,
But dry and withering,
Falling to the ground.

Autumn has come with some grace,
With a great inspiring quality,
A chill has come.
It's in the air.
It crept in.
I was unaware.
