where the oxygen content is doubled and the atmosheric pressure
is doubled it will grow to an unusually large size with monstrous
ears of corn. Studies have also shown when people are placed in
this environment (hyperbaric chamber) for even short periods of time they show miraculous healing ability. And scientists have speculated that if a person were to live in this environment he could run 200 miles. It would be impossible for a fungus, virus, or bacteria to survive in the blood stream of someone breathing this atmosphere. No one knows for sure of coarse but perhaps he would grow to 15 feet tall and live for 900 years.
Sound familiar? Adam and eve were probably 17 or 18 feet tall and lived for hundreds of years just like the Biblical account records.They had photographic memories, the ability to play music by ear and much more. The events that took place at the time of the flood aren't readily apparrent to our scientists who have to reason backwards from what they know today. As the earth came fresh from the Creator's hand at the completion of the sixth day there were no polar ice-caps. No rain. No steep precipices to fall off of.
The world was created with maturity. While we don't know the age of the elements used we do know that the feat was accomplished in six literal days as the first historian, Moses, was quite familiar with the 24 hour day. Plant as well as animal life was far superior to what we know today. No oceans. No dying leaves. No death, period. The trees were far different. All life was perfect and far different from what we know today.
After the earth was cursed, nature was changed but it was still far superior to what we know after the flood. As time passed Adam's descendants deteriorated in mental moral power they reached a point where they had slid so far there was no longer hope of saving them. It would have been cruel of God to suffer the race to continue on with no more hope for their offspring. In mercy He ended things while offering all a chance to board the ark. Many were tempted to enter but the dignitaries of the day argued that God would not create a world for man, then destroy it and that their sins were not as serious as Noah stated. It had never rained up to that time and sounded far fetched.
At the time of the flood we believe even Satan and the evil angels feared for their very lives, so climatic was the event. Today, believe it or not, men and women are fast approaching a similar test.
