“Who does Roy say Jesus Christ is? I read that Roy is Jewish, but he seems to be at least tolerant of Christians. He also seems to equate himself with Christ, at least to some degree. Does he think that Christ is God, as Christians do? Does he think he (Jesus) is a prophet or just a man? And does he think of himself as more than just a man?
Second, what does he say about the basic nature of man? Does he say that man is innately good or evil? Do you know?
I would appreciate very much if you could give me references from his books to validate your answers.”

Roy was born Jewish but is now basically a Christian--or what some Christians say is a "completed Jew." He acknowledges both religions and their unique connection, except that he believes that the Jews, who were waiting for a Messiah, "don't realize that he already came."

Roy has stated numerous times that Jesus never said that he was God. He would be correct if you literally search the text of the Bible.  He believes Jesus is a great prophet and teacher who has been divinely sanctioned by God. Where he stands on the question of was Jesus the "son" of God, I cannot answer.

I have not read any of Roy's books. I have only listened to the radio shows. Roy's British accent is much too charming to want to read his words only.

Roy once said that he was "the closest thing on earth to Jesus." Those who dislike Roy have been able to do a real number on him because of that quote. And I never thought I would find myself defending Roy--but I am a very fair person. Roy's meaning is that he believes he offers many of the teachings that Jesus taught in their original pure and simple form--before they were perverted and twisted around by 2,000 years of organized religion and insincere religious preachers.

Roy does not think of himself as more than a man...but he purposely puts on an arrogant, exaggerated persona that makes people think otherwise. It is an act for the radio. Roy is quite different when the microphone is turned off--believe me, I spent many hours with the man. Many radio people do that to get listeners to tune back in. I have been guilty of doing it myself when I did intense "political" radio.

Roy's politics have always been conservative. However, over the last 5 years they have become right of right. He never started to say horrendous things like "All Democrats are Communists" until a few years ago. No matter how many times he (recently) tells you that he is a "moderate" (which has me on the floor laughing), he is a staunch right-winged conservative. I find his recent statements, which are basically calling for a Christian theocracy in this country, to be appalling and frightening.

He is part of the group that decided to use their media positions to guarantee the right-winged Republicanizing of America. These also include Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, the Fox News Network and WorldNet Daily (www.wnd.com)  These people are all in bed with each other. They will support each other regardless of individual and personal ethics and morals. As long as they despise liberals and Democrats, that is the only thing that matters. The National Michael Savage radio show is a creation of Roy Masters and his sons Mark and David. The show takes in millions of dollars in advertising revenue (of course there are major expenses), but when Roy is begging for money donations for his Foundation, he makes it sound like he is living on the street and an hour away from destitution and poverty.

It is things like that and other personal hypocrisy that makes me feel it is necessary to present the other side of this "public figure" and what he says to the American people.

When he has the guts to face me on the radio and debate me over both public and personal matters, then he won't have to ask the question on the radio (clearly aimed at me and my site), "I don't know why these people are criticizing me on the Internet."

As you can see, I provide a link to Roy’s site at the top of my web page. People can make up their own minds…that is what America is all about and is what I support fully. Roy pretends we don’t exist but he reads my site on a regular basis. It works out great. I listen to his radio show—he reads my web site. We hear each other’s opinions. And in many cases these days, we agree to disagree. That is at least since he stopped calling his lawyers on me when he realized that NOBODY interferes with my FREEDOM OF SPEECH just as NOBODY interferes with his FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Hopefully we will continue to learn from each other.
