Pictures from our Mardi Gras Parade

Here we are in the classroom just before our parade began.  We  Made  the crowns we all are wearing, and we made our masks,  Our beads are on our necks and we had candy, beads, and doubloons to throw to the crowds.

Here is a picture of our Royal Court, with the exception of Duke Dustin.  Tacky the Emperor is with our court.  We even had a jester to entertain the royalty.

As you can see we all were having a great time.

i love mardi gras and get as big a kick out of throwing to the spectators as I do  catching the beads.  I was to be interviewed after the parade, my hair was awful (after wearing the crown, lol).  fortunately for me the interview was postponed until Monday.

Here we are at the end of our parade.  there was only one casualty --- the camera man from the local tv station was run down by one of the many battery operated vehicles in the parade --- oops.  ms. Mullins and I had as good a time as the children.  the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders really enjoyed the parade, especially the goodies that we threw.  some of our teachers really got into it and taught their students what  every person who goes to a mardi gras parade should know ------"Throw me something mister (or lady)"

we hope you have enjoyed seeing our parade.  please feel free to let us know what you thought.
