Chapman Corporation - Imaging and Engineering Technology Division
Position: Solutions Specialist – 08/02 to Present

Analysis, design and development of Document Management and Imaging systems for both in-house and client use.  Systems utilize FileNet Panagon Capture and IDM Desktop as well as other open imaging formats.  Systems were developed utilizing Visual Basic and Visual C++ accessing Oracle and MS Access Databases.  Developed database/workflow solutions utilizing Step2000/Flotiva.  Also participate in conceptual design, proposals and estimating.

·         Designed, developed, deployed and maintained a complete custom scanning front end to the FileNet EDMS.  Includes scan, rescan, image verify, index, index verify, quality, commit and utility modules.

·         Designed, developed, deployed and maintained a backend process to export documents and index data from the FileNet EDMS and convert the images to TIFF and PDF.  Has successfully converted over 3 million pages.

·         Developed numerous database and imaging solutions for both in-house and customer deployment.

Private Consulting – Electrical and Control Systems  – 06/02 to 08/02

Provided complete Engineering, Design, Drafting and Control Systems programming and configuration services for several industrial automation projects.  Also provided commissioning end start-up support.  Projects included a chemical reactor/blender addition, two (2) slab reheat furnace combustion control systems and a UHMW plastic skiving machine.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to a group of software professionals operating in the Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) field.  Responsible for analysis, design and development of custom applications for client server architecture using Visual Basic 6.0, Oracle 7/8, SQL Server 7, ANSI SQL, Crystal Reports 7.0, FileNET Capture/Desktop/Visual WorkFlo, ODBC, ActiveX, ADO under Windows NT 4.0 operating system. 

Worked on the following Projects: Index Forwarding Utility: The application provides the capability to forward document re-index requests to an alternate queue or user when an Index operator is unavailable.  The application incorporates an Oracle database and Visual Basic 6.0 utilizing object oriented programming and stored procedures.  WISH (WorkFlow and Imaging Solution). The system allows for the storage and retrieval of electronic documents related to a worker's compensation bureau, as well as employee claims for benefits.  Design and development of a structured workflow application utilizing FileNET's Visual Workflow. The Workflow provides intelligent routing of documents based on the type of document and claim policy numbers.  Maintenance, upgrades and performance tuning of the Scan, Index and Query applications.  The programs were written using Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise, and interact with an Oracle database and FileNET IDMIS, Visual WorkFlo, Capture and IDM Desktop.  TIFF Image Import Utility: Redesign and performance tuning of an image import facility for a manufacturing company.   The redesigned program yielded a better than 10:1 speed improvement over the existing application.  Manufacturing Information System: Worked on enhancements and expanded functionality for an existing manufacturing information system.  Added utilities to allow data retrieval and exporting of selected data to Excel.  Added a custom spreadsheet interface for retrieval and editing of data.

Techint Technologies,Inc. Coraopolis, Pennsylvania
Position: Lead Engineer, Electrical - 06/98 to 8/2000

Functional Design, Analysis, Implementation, Testing and Commissioning of combustion control systems for large industrial reheat furnaces.  Analysis of company and customer objectives along with development and implementation of algorithms to carry out the design.  Led a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers assigned to the Geneva Steel Walking Beam Furnace Project.  Developed furnace simulation programs in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 to test the control system prior to shipment.  Built an application to generate databases for HMI and PLC's from a generic instrument database.  Designed an application to automate the generation of AutoCAD Single-Line drawings from an Access database.  Participated in requirements gathering and analysis for PC based Level 2 Automation control systems and their interface with the combustion control system.  Wrote test procedures and factory test plans.

Duties also include Feasibility Studies, Proposals, Electrical Engineering, Power Distribution, Motor Control Center Design & Layout, Single Line and Elementary Diagram development, Construction Specifications and Electrical Construction engineering.

Duties included supervision of a team of engineers and technicians developing control and data acquisition systems for an experimental Fusion Reactor. Responsible for maintenance & upgrade of a network of 18 super minicomputers. Designed, implemented and installed a High Speed data acquisition system and computer interface. This included digital logic and computer interface design, and assembly and Fortran language programming. Developed computerization strategy for Tritium Storage and Delivery System.
