Description about Karachi Parks

    There are a lot of Gardens and Parks located in different areas of Karachi

Gandhi Garden

        In 1843 this piece of land was acquired by the Government and a vegetable farm was developed to meet the needs of the citizens.  The work was completed under the supervision of Major Blenching during the period of Sir Charles Napier. Major Blenching and Mr. McLeod also established a Dairy Farm on this piece of land. The irrigation of this farm was arranged from Malir River.
        In 1869 this piece of land was handed over to the Municipal Committee for converting it into a Public garden. The plan and the design of the garden were prepared by Mr. Bird wood. Berry soon it was opened for public. In 1893 a Zoo was also constructed in the garden. The design of the Zoological Garden was prepared by Mr. Bird with the help of Mr. James Strachen and Mr. Flinch.
        1960-61 the Municipal Corporation constructed a double storied market around the boundary of the park. Shops on the ground floor and offices on the first floor were constructed to generate income for the garden.  This market has affected the beauty of the park and the traffic pressure has also increased in this area

Burns Garden

        To pay tributes to the services of Dr. Burns this garden was named after him. This garden is located on Court Road adjacent to Sindh College. There is no recovered available regarding Dr. Burns as to what his services were and why this garden was named after him.

Hill Park

        Hill Park is situated on a hilltop in P.E.C.H.S. It is a beautiful park with many amusement spots. Daily Hundreds of people and specially families visit this park.

Aziz Bhatti Park

        This spacious and lush green park is situated in Gulshan-e-Iqbal near Urdu College

This park is situated in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, which is a new residential scheme. There are plans to convert it into a proper Safari Park but till now it has only few species of dears, birds and ducks

Aladdin Park

        A new amusement park built on the main Rashid Minhas Road is the latest attraction of Karachi. It has the colorful slides, one of the tallest in Asia. It is spread over an area of 50 acres. Open for the people in 1996.  It has become a valuable tourist attraction of the city. It has the amusement park, a water park, shopping center and many eating outlets including the Kentucky Fried Chicken etc

There is a full Olympic size swimming pool, a children pool and a wave pool. Fishermen's village is being constructed with a separate area of Bar-B-Cue. There are going to be 40 different kinds of rides, boating facilities and mini train

Dream World Resort

        A new attraction is Dream World Resort, which will provide a wide range of tourist and recreation facilities. It is situated on the super highway about 15 minute drives from Civic Center. There is a golf course, two beautiful rippling water lakes, water slide rides and beautiful rippling water lakes. Water slide rides and a beautiful world class restaurant. Artificial lake will have the country's first sea Maker and an area of fantastic and incredible show the most spectacular water, light and music performance

Jibes Play land, Finland and Bowling Allay

        The entertainment complex built at New Clifton close to the beach provides healthy and vigorous amusement for visitors. Play land is an air-conditioned hall for the young, housing various games, gadgets and machines.  There is a self-service restaurant, which provides snacks cold and hot drinks

        Finland is further down, closer to the beach, and has developed on the line of international amusement parks. It is equipped with a variety of sophisticated rides, such as Dodging cars, Minitrain, Boats, Star jet. Telecom bat, Apollo, Antique cars etc

The Bowling Alley provides a six lane Brunswick Bowling Alley.

Safari Park

        A Safari Park is being developed on the university Road, over an area of 401 acres. Among other facilities, it has an open zoo. Which have different enclosures spread over an area of 182 acres? In outlook it is similar to world's many Safari Parks. The park has a viewpoint on a higher altitude at the hillock. The park is a popular place for the citizens of Karachi to visit in the evening, and on holidays
