| What Is Life Casting? Lifecasting is an ancient art form dating back to the time of the Egyptians. The Greeks and Romans were known to have practiced Lifecasting. Lifecasting is the art of taking molds directly from the human body. The mold is then used to cast a ‘replica’ of the original body part. Even Rodin's Age of ‘Bronze’ was thought to have been lifecastings, as it appeared so realistic. |
| Although today, the materials have changed, the same basic process remains the same and is widely used in the Special Effects field, for Television and movies, to produce many realistic, human, monster, and alien body parts and masks and much more. Unlike painted art, Lifecasting is 3-Dimensional. This gives you a much better, more detailed, reproduction. |
