Art Blue artist Julie A. Urtz

With over 20 years of photography experience and over 10 years painting murals and fine arts,
there is so much I would love to be able to create just for you.

Starting out with drawing at the age of nine,
I went into photography at 17 in the US Air Force. After doing this for a number of years,
I went to culinary school to express my creativity in the kitchen.

Soon after, I realized I really wanted to work with a camera, brushes, and paint
instead of working with food, and I began Art Blue.

My experience includes murals for restaurants and private residences as well as sign painting for local businesses.
More recently, I am a permanent artist at a local gallery with oil paintings and photography on display.

I also have experience as an Artist in Residence in conjunction with Arts In Education.
I have worked with the entire 4th grade at an elementary school for one week.
For the past four years, I have developed a historic mural with them
that students will be able to enjoy for years to come.
This past October, I was able to create a mural with the kids that depicts
the local town's history in Patterson, NY and am proud to say
that it now graces the lobby upon entering the school.
Soon I will have some pictures posted for everyone to enjoy!
I look forward to working with students of all ages developing historic murals in this area.

The street art I have done involves pastel drawing on pavement on a large scale
at a street festival done in the Hudson Valley each year.
I am hoping to begin such an event in the Central NY area.

With my experience in many forms of creativity, I have an eye for color and design.
I have used my expertise to consult with individuals with their painting and decorating needs in their homes.
