Book One - The Chimera Disaster
In the year 2054 of Anno Domini terrorists accidentally release a deadly plague into the atmosphere above America. Soon Earth is a different place.
Nations will be decimated. Empires will be reborn.
It is one nation that will rise from the ashes triumphant. For this is the time of Empires.
Book Two - The Exodus
In the year 2239 of Anno Domini humankind began The Exodus - within 12 Generational Ships, families left Earth on voyages to other stars. No one knew how long the voyages would take.
Ships will be destroyed. Lives will be lost.
It is the decision of a handful of ships that seals the fate of many.
Book Three - The Galactic War
In the year 1598 of the Novus Aera a deep space encounter results in half of mankind erupting into war – The First Galactic War of Humankind.
Lives will be extinguished. Families will be torn apart.
It is on the shoulders of the few that the fate of the many will be decided.
Book Four - The Aftermath
In the year 3107 of the Novus Aera the shattered planets of the Empire rebuild from the ruins of The Galactic War. Infighting is commonplace.
Cities will be rebuilt. Planets will be re-settled.
It is the vision of one man that will unite the shattered Empire once more.
The Chimera Disaster
25th August 2006 – Pluto declared Dwarf Planet
By 2054 AD humankind has colonies on the moon, Mars and some moons of Jupiter and Saturn.
2 years later terrorists destroy a Viral Research Lab in America. Within a week hundreds of people are dead, thousands within 3. The unfortunate coincidence of this attack and the landing of Hurricane Rosalind begin to cause unheard of deaths. The lucky few uninfected Americans flee to the other continents, and are at first welcomed with open arms - until Mexico succumbs to the same disease.
Within a month the United Kingdom and New Zealand forcefully closes their borders to American refugees, urging other nations to follow suite. Alfonse Gerhardt, President of the United Nations of Europe, objects and grants the refugees shelter, likewise with the leader of Australia.
The Third World War erupts in 2057, if it could be called a World War. Refugees of the disease sweeping the globe take up arms against the nations refusing them entry.
The colonies of mankind watched with awe and horror as Earth erupted into War once more. It wasn’t long before the colonies became involved, and the multi-nation colonies erupted into civil-war, several destroying themselves. With their link to Earth temporarily severed, the fledgling colonies on Mars, Jupiter and Saturn soon failed, their last transmissions being ignored as the War continued.
By 2059 half of the population of Earth is extinct. Those whose county had taken in refugees fled Earth, escaping to the moon and the colonies that survived.
24 years later the Earth is a different place. With a power vacuum, the English are the first to realise the potential of unclaimed lands. Using their army from the Third World War, they swiftly take most of Europe, welcomed with open arms by the poor and suffering of a nation with no infrastructure, becoming states in the New British Empire. After claiming Europe as its own, the New British Empire looked to the heavens, towards the Lunar Colonies and the failed colonies on Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
Russian missiles, using the Dead-Man system, launched automatically on American targets, rendering America mainly radioactive. What remains of the population of Russia though is quick to realise much the same, and sets about claiming territory back from the disease, as do many other surviving nations.
Survivors from New Zealand realise that few Australians survived, and immediately send aid. After encountering the Indonesian Alliance, New Zealand and Australia form Australasia, and become in essence, one nation.
Japan is soon to realise most of China is undefended and unpopulated, and is quick to secure their nuclear weapons and sets about fortifying the Empire of The Sun.
Africa remains largely untouched by the disease, as it is still considered by some to be the Third World. Most costal nations are considered Second World, with South Africa the first African nation to be recognised as First World.

Within 50 years of the Chimera Disaster of 2056, 9 individual empires have risen from the nations ravaged by the disease; from the New British Empire, encompassing hundreds of countries and the Lunar colonies; to large empires spanning many countries and smaller colonies, like the Empire Of The Sun; to smaller empires, more like conglomerates or alliances, such as Australasia or the Indonesian Alliance.
After The First Solar War of 2109, Mars fell under the Empire Of The Sun, Jupiter and Saturn became colonies of the United Colonies Of Russia, with the Moon still owned by the New British Empire. America still remains radioactive, and uninhabitable.
By 2152 the colonies of the empires have, as always happens, become restless and demand their independence from Earth. The Second Solar War of 2152 ensures their independence, and together the colonies of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn form the Untied Colony Alliance. The Moon however did not demand independence from the New British Empire.
In an effort to unite humanity, the United Nations starts the Exodus Project. The nations that are members of the UN create huge ships that are to be home to hundreds of settlers on a voyage spanning hundreds maybe thousands of years. The ships contained everything they could need – farms, houses, shops, cinemas, gyms - everything.
The Exodus
The Generational Ship Cronus, named after the first God of Ancient Greece, is the first to launch on February 27th 2241, followed every six months later by one more ship. The Generational Ships to leave Sol were: Cronus, Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo, Prometheus, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus. Neptune was last, launched on March 13th 2247.
In 3529, after twelve-hundred years flying between the stars, the Generational Ship Prometheus settles the third planet of Alpha Centauri. Start of Novus Aera Calendar.
By 3671 AD (103 NA) each system in Alpha Centauri was connected via a network of permanent stable wormholes, anchored at either end by a Stargate, invented and successfully introduced by Barclay Carlisle.

With the onset of this new, faster and much more efficient mode of transportation, the Colonization Era began, with terraformers and settlers fanning out to new planets on new systems to claim them for the Angloan people. As the newly inhabited planets grew in numbers, the Royal Empire of Angloa was declared, with each planet appointed a leader. It was at this time that it was decided to elect a King, who was very similar to a President in respect that he could loose his seat to another candidate, to whom the planetary leaders, or Lord Rulers, sweared fealty to.
In 406 NA (4089 AD) during the Colonization Era, the star system known to the government as UESS-A5 was scouted for colonization, but they soon discovered a Generational Ship in orbit above the fourth planet – it was the Apollo! She had arrived in the system only one-hundred-and-nineteen years previously, and the settlers on board had already established themselves on Apollaria, as they called their planet, as well as several asteroids and the planets’ moons. They were asked if they wanted to join the Empire of Angloa, and they readily agreed – eager to mingle with other humans and begin to establish larger settlements throughout the systems now opened up to them through Carlisle’s Stargates.
The last contact with any humans not from our Empire was 1112 years ago, in NA 486 (4200 AD), when a vessel containing several families was detected by deep space sensors in a neighbouring system. Immediately ships were sent to intercept, and quickly learned that the ship had come from the Generational Ship Neptune, but had become lost during a mining operation several years ago.
The Galactic War
Since then the people of the Royal Empire of Angloa are unaware of any humans outside of the Empire. Though it is nice to hope that the other Generational Ships survived after 2531 NA years (3493 AD years) in deep space.
The Galactic War breaks out in NA 1599, or 5735 AD...
The Aftermath
Almost 2000 years after The Galactic War, the Royal Empire of Angloa has been defeated, as have her enemies. The Stargates that connected the Empire have long been destroyed, leaving the planets stranded. Records of the other planets are all but lost, leaving each planet in the belief that they are the last surviving planet of humankind. Launched from the planet now know as Alarea, the first inter-system probe discovers an intact Stargate. Though it's systems had not functioned for thousands of years, the people of Alarea managed to restore power to the huge artefact. But nothing happened. Taking the initiative and constructing a working copy, Adara Evelane is the first human from Alarea to create and successfully use an Artificially Created Singularity generated by a Stargate. He managed to jump from one end of the Solar System to the other. Using the knowledge gained from The First Stargate, Adara's grandson Izobar Evelane, creates the first FTL ship, the New Hope. Using the FTL engines on his ship and the starcharts found on the computers of The First Stargate, Izobar successfully jumped to Eta Cassiopeiae.
There he met with the people of Cassiopia, and soon the Alarea-Cassiopia Alliance was born, and the Cassiopian Stargate was constructed to give a permanent ACS between Alarea and Cassiopia.
Evelane continued to use the New Hope to explore the surrounding space, and found the other systems of The REA. All agreed to open peace talks, provided he hand over his FTL engine. Most planets agreed and Evelane built Stargates to unite the Alliance.
But the systems of The Alliance still remained separate - using the Stargates only to further their own agendas and technologies.
Soon Evelane discovered the remains of a Starship in deep space. It was huge! After weeks of trying to interface with the ship’s computer, his technicians informed him it was the New England Battleship Galaxy. The data gained from the computers informed Evelane that the Galaxy had never seen a fight. It had all of its ammunition and missiles on board. It had never fired a single shot. Yet here it stood. Dead. Empty. No power left in its nuclear cores. Evelane decided to establish a research post in orbit above the Galaxy and discover why it had been abandoned – but most importantly – by whom?!
