Unbalanced diet refers to the intake of inappropriate types and inadequate amount of foods and drinks that does not supply nutrition and energy for all our needs and does not maintain good health.

The result of not having a

Goiter is an enlargement of the thyroid gland which occurs when the thyroid gland is not able to produce enough thyroid hormone to meet the body’s need due to lack of Iodine in the diet.

Signs and symptoms:
* Enlargement of thyroid gland in the neck
* Growth affected

Anemia is an abnormal reduction in the number of red blood cells or in the haemoglobin content.

Signs and symptoms:

* Breathlessness
* Weakness
* Dizziness
* Fatigue
* Headache

Rickets is a nutritional disorder characterized by skeletal deformities.  It is caused by a decrease concentration of the mineral hydroxyaphate in bones and cartilage due to low levels of calcium and phosphorous in the blood.

Sign and symptoms:

*Leg curvatures or vertebral curvatures

Kwashiorkor is malnutrition caused by the inadequate intake of protein.

Signs and symptoms:

* Reddish discoloration of hair
* Depigment of the skin
* A swollen abdomen
* Shock and coma precede death
