Club Projects & Community Service
The Rotary Club of South Nepean is a young club, chartered
on April 19th 2002, and our community service programme continues to evolve.
Working together, we strive to assist those most in need in our community
and abroad, and to enrich the life of our community in South Nepean.
Below are some of the initiatives
we are already undertaking:

An annual fundraising Dinner and Auction for Nelson
House, a shelter for women and children in South Nepean.

We raised $1,202 toward the furnishing of the community
space at the Nepean Housing Corporation.
|
|
Our volunteer members work
with the ABCs of Fraud program, helping seniors in our community to
recognise and avoid frauds and scams.
|
|
The club stands ready to
provide funding to assist children in our community participate in
sports activities which they might otherwise miss due to lack of funds
for equipment, uniforms or fees.
|
|
We raised approximately $1,800 for the Heart and Stroke
Foundation in a "Big Bike" fundraiser.
|
|
The club has adopted a stretch of Fallowfield Road in the
City of Ottawa's "Adopt-a-Road" program. We keep this stretch
of road free of trash to beautify our community.

|
The Rotary Achievement Award honours the most
significant academic improvement over the academic career of a
graduating high school student the John McCrae High School.
|
|
Club members volunteer as drivers for the Barrhaven Food
Cupboard.
|
|
Raising funds for Polio
Plus, an ambitious project of Rotary International and several partner
agencies to eliminate Polio from the world by 2005.
|
|
The Annual Networking
Breakfast held each fall, bringing together small business owners in the
community in an event which assists our fundraising efforts.

Provided funding to
Nepean Outreach to the World to build a room in an orphanage under
construction on Bo, Sierra Leone. |
|
