Glossary of R/C Terms for Newbies

ARC - an almost ready to cover model

ARF - an almost ready to fly model

Basic Trainer - a stable high wing model that a student first learns on. The wing is on top of the cabin area, thus the term high wing trainer.

 

Funky Chicken - when the R/C pilot loses control or orientation of his mdoel and vainly attempts to regain control of the model. The model begins a series of ever increasing occilations until the model meets its end with Mother Earth.

Gravity - Gravity always wins, remember that.

High Wing Trainer - a stable high wing model that a student first learns on. The wing is on top of the cabin area, thus the term high wing trainer.

 

Low Wing Trainer - a model with  the wing is on the bottom of the fuselage, the model has ailerons and is a lot more maneuverable that a trainer and takes much more skill to fly.

 

Mid Wing Trainer - a mid wing model, requires a skill level between the high wing and low wing trainer models.

 

Newbie - some one who has just got into the hobby, or is till flying his trainer on a  regular basis
