Thanks for visiting my personal home page. A small self-introduction ..... I am by academic credentials an Aerospace Engineer. I have a B.S. and M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the The University of Texas at Arlington with my M.S. specialization in High-Speed Computational Fluid Dynamics, which is the study of fluid behavior via numerical simulation of the physical governing equations of flow.

I started my professional career as an Aerospace Engineer in 1994, and worked for The Boeing Company in Wichita, Kansas as my first job right out of Graduate school. I was designated as a "Structural Design Engineer" on the Boeing-747 airplane conversion/modification program. The work mainly consisted of designing structural (airframes/empennage/floor beams/etc) changes for conversion of older passenger aircraft to a Freighter configuration. I spent about 2-1/2 years doing this. I also volunteered for special assignments in the Weights and Balance area to satisfy my curiosity.

After a while, I decided to try moving to an unrelated field in the Aerospace sector to get a broader perspective. To this end, I took up some additional programming classes on my own (not that I had not done enough coding already!) and then applied to an internal position in the Defense & Space Group at Boeing. I got a lot of exposure to GUI programming in the process, some of which I had never done. It was at this time that my designation changed to "Software Engineer." I spent another 2.5 years or so and then wanted to check out the latest developments in this arena. This took me to a brief but eventful position at Koch Industries Inc. in the same town, where I picked up some Internet skills as well.

Home and "music" brought me back to the Dallas/FortWorth TX metroplex - where I took up several consulting positions, and then settled back in a principal development role at Computer Sciences Corporation. A long trip, which took me slightly away from my original position, but perhaps the right way to have gone, in retrospect... I still do intend to somehow keep up with my educational training, if I can. Let us see how that pans out.

Lastly, My Online Resume can be found here, for those interested in perusing it.

Hobbies and Interests

Indian Classical Music:
Do visit our local music organization - the Indian Classical Music Circle of DFW (Dallas/FortWorth). What more can I say? I spend a major portion of my spare time with N. Indian Classical Music, which really does seem to lift my spirits and transport me to a completely different plane of existence...

Urdu Poetry - GHazal in particular:
- Urdu is one of the many languages spoken in my native country, India. It has a rich poetic tradition and a large following as well. I could add some more about Urdu poetry, but like any art form, it is not easy or fair to summarize anything so briefly. Do visit one of the many archives of Urdu poetry on the net.

- One of the most famous names in Urdu Poetry is Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib . Click on the hyperlink to read some of his wonderful poetry. (hope you can read the script though...)

- A very well written biography of Ghalib by Aijaz Ahmad is reproduced --->here<---. I had posted these in parts on the USENET several years ago, and have saved it on my site now as well.

- My own personal attempts at learning the language have resulted in me trying to write in it... If interested, you can find my amateur attempts at Urdu poetry -->here<-- . (Sorry, no translations given..... Please use MSIE4+ or FireFox 1.0+ to view these pages). Comments in my guestbook on the poetry page would be most appreciated.

- I have a weblog for my poetry as well. Click --->here<--- to view.

- A great on-line dictionary for beginners in Urdu can be found --->here<--- . I recommend it as a valuable aid in understanding some of the common vocabulary used in contemporary Urdu poetry.

Languages and Linguistics:
I have been fascinated by languages since I was little - my most recent interest is Persian, which I can read and follow a little now. Wish I had a formal teacher .... The only real source that I found on the Web to help me start with the grammar in this lovely language was the EasyPersian.Com site, which is a very valuable resource.

Mysticism:
What is religion? What is man's place in the universe ? What is TRUTH? Answers lie within oneself, of course... The primary focus of mysticism is to "find" oneself, which of course is the first step to "enlightenment" ... (confused? not surprising)
