Frugal Beauty Tips

Here are some great frugal beauty tips I've found across the web.

To dry nail polish in a hurry, spray nails with cooking oil.

Olive oil can be added to bath water for a skin softener.

Use witch hazel instead of toner and astringent. No need to dilute -- use full strength. You can also rinse with a splash of Apple Cider Vinegar after cleansing -- it balances out the ph of your skin.

You really do not need to use so much shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, or other products. You only need to use half as much as they recommend.

Mix 1 part lotion with 1 part potroleum jelly to make a fantastic body lotion.

To keep Cold Cream from spoiling and to maintain its freshness, keep it in the refrigerator. Plus it is so cool!

Instead of purchasing a tube of Chap Stick, pay the same price for a container of petroleum jelly, and divide it into small containers to carry with you to use for chapped lips.

Mix dry oatmeal and water into a paste and spread on face. Lie down and let it dry. Wash off with warm water. Excellent facial.

Cut the bottom of a makeup or toothpaste tube open, and scrape the remainder into a bowl with a lid. You can continue to use the last little bit until it's completely gone.

Clean your old lipstick tubes very well and you'll end up with a great pill carrier, for your Tylonol or your medication.

When you finish off an old bottle of shampoo, save the bottle. Pour half of your next bottle into the empty, and then add some water to both. You'll get twice the shampoo and it will work just as well.

Wash your face with warm water and soap. Then, while your face is still wet, rub in a tiny little amount of petroleum jelly. Rub in a circular motion and continue to rub into your face as you add more warm water.

Save those old used deoderants. Place them aside until you've built up a collection of four or five. Then, microwave the left over deoderants and pour them into a container, and let it harden overnight. You will have a brand new deoderant.
