CHASSIS BREAK In

Before Building your chassis you must break it in.  That means that you must get all the "bugs" of your car, fine tuning it can help your car slightly but in a neck a neck race it can matter.

GEARS

if you have a moto tool or dentist type drill (such as a dremel) you can cut some weight off the gears even the crown gears.  ill try to get you pics on the ones i drilled.  the only gear that i did not was the double gear. i will give you some tips and patterns on how to cut it.

we do this so there is less rotational mass so there will be quicker acelleration

1.  mark wit a permanent pen, dots on the wheel gear(the one attached to the axle not the crown) like this:

Blue is where you can cut the holes. the red is where the axle is inserted and the dotted circle represents the gear teeth.

2 after marking cut those holes with a drill bit smaller than 3/16 of an inchthe black big holes represnrent the cut holes

2.  now were gonna make the gear look like it has 3 spokes. you might thing it might break but it wont unless you have a real highpower motor and a gear misalignment.

the blue is where you should leave the plastic.  the green is were you should connect the cuts.  Boom! you now have a three spoke gear

on the crown gears its a little harder you have to drill slowly.  Warning when cutting put into a vise or a clam so it will not fly off.  wear goggles too

WHEELS

this one is easy and fun but dont cut yourself.

1. when you first built your chassis you probably twisted it the the plastic frame in the kit and to its affect you have some remaing plastic.

the square piece is the potruding piece cut that off with a razor blade or x acto knife.

2.  also you want to minimise the power loss when the wheel axle inserton column by making it into a flat cone. this column on turns hits the bearing/eyelet too much

cut the axle insetion point
