Introduction
   The RAN is the pre-eminent navy in South East Asia, in terms of size reach and training, and looks set to retain that trophy for the foreseeable future. It is a crucial diplomatic tool of the Commonwealth of Australia, and ultimately the key to guarding Australian territorial integrity.
   It is also a force about which there is remarkably little available on the web. This is an attempt in part to remedy that deficit. As the name implies, however, this is completely and utterly unofficial. Any opinions expressed on this page are mine and mine alone. Similarly I take full responsibility for the accuracy of the information. I will try and reference pictures and information where possible and I apologise in advance for any omissions. Any deficiencies should be taken as being accidental, and in the event of a discrepancy between what you read here and anything even remotely official you should consider the official document correct.
