ASIA BIKING ADVENTURE (still under construction... 3 years later)

This is the story of Raluca & Jedi's bike trip through South-East Asia, in the spring and summer of 2001....

We, Raluca and Ed (otherwise known as Jedi), felt that the 9 to 5 life was getting old, so we decided to take a little bike trip through Southeast Asia. We were not into bicycling before this trip, Raluca's last bike had only had one gear and that was 22 years ago in Romania; Ed hadn't ridden a bike in almost 10 years. About two months before leaving on our trip we decided to travel by bike. Three weeks before leaving we actually bought the bikes, so to say the least, we didn't train extensively. Our plans were fairly loose, but we planned to go to at least Thailand, Laos, China and Vietnam. We went to all those plus Cambodia, biking 3600km by the end of our three months trip. This is our story...
