Columbine Prayers

And Special Thoughts ALL Year Long

THE GIFT prayers OF PRAYER

The most precious gift you will ever receive;
Is prayer from someone who in Jesus believes.
It's not wrapped with ribbons or bows,
And few people hear and few people know.
But it's written in the chronicles of heaven.
Each prayer muttered, is a special gift given.
And yes, I said a prayer for you tonight;
For you to be calmed from all your fright.
For healing, and you to learn of God and His ways,
And be able to look up at Him,
And give Him honor and praise.

I can't see your face and barely know who you are;
But I know one thing, each muttered prayer will go so very far.
Oh my brothers and sisters in Christ;
Each prayer you whisper is the greatest gift you will find.
It comes from the love of a pure heart;
That will last forever and never depart.
Someday we will all meet face to face;
We will be able to give such a warm embrace;
As the Kingdom of Heaven allows us to share;
In person what we can only do in prayer....

The most precious gift you will give;
Is a prayer, a sweet smelling fragrance so others can live.
By laying down your life in such a simple way,
Gives more to another than any gift will ever convey....
Oh prayer, no it does not have ribbons or bows;
It only costs us our time, and our love that we show.

CrossTHIS CHILD OF MINE

"I'll lend you for a little time, a child of mine. He said, For you to love while he lives, and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three. But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for Me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief, you'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief."

"I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught down there, I want this child to learn I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true, and from the throngs that crowd life's lane, I have selected you. Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain, Nor hate Me when I come to call him back again?"

I fancied that I heard them say: "Dear Lord, thy will be done." For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may, And for all the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay; But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned; we'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try and understand.

dove Christmas in Heaven

Wondering what Christmas in Heaven is like
As we grieve alone and pray,
Longing for one who has gone before
To spend Christmas in Heaven today.

And so in our dreams we wander far
From the scenes and sounds of earth
`Til we catch the strains of the Heavenly choir
As they sing of the Christ Childs birth.

The Angels we envision there
As they join in the festal gay
And there amid the throng is our Loved One
Spending Christmas in Heaven today.

There's joy in the faith that teaches
When our lifes work is done
Of a place in Heaven awaiting
And the crown we worked for is won.

In our grief may we learn well the lesson
So to work and suffer and pray
As to merit the joys of our loved one
And to spend Christmas together some day.
