Here you will find thoughts, prayers, and wishes for the angels of Columbine and their families. This is the first Christmas that they will spend without them in the flesh...but we know that with God's love and the love of others that they will be together in the true spirit of Christ. If you would like to add a thought or Prayer, please feel free to do so below.
THE GIFT OF PRAYER
The most precious gift you will ever receive;
I can't see your face and barely know who you are;
The most precious gift you will give; Author: Unknown
THIS CHILD OF MINE"I'll lend you for a little time, a child of mine. He said, For you to love while he lives, and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three. But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for Me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief, you'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief." "I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught down there, I want this child to learn I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true, and from the throngs that crowd life's lane, I have selected you. Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain, Nor hate Me when I come to call him back again?" I fancied that I heard them say: "Dear Lord, thy will be done." For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may, And for all the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay; But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned; we'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try and understand. .......a poem by Edgar A Guest |
Wondering what Christmas in Heaven is like
As we grieve alone and pray,
Longing for one who has gone before
To spend Christmas in Heaven today.
And so in our dreams we wander far
From the scenes and sounds of earth
`Til we catch the strains of the Heavenly choir
As they sing of the Christ Childs birth.
The Angels we envision there
As they join in the festal gay
And there amid the throng is our Loved One
Spending Christmas in Heaven today.
There's joy in the faith that teaches
When our lifes work is done
Of a place in Heaven awaiting
And the crown we worked for is won.
In our grief may we learn well the lesson
So to work and suffer and pray
As to merit the joys of our loved one
And to spend Christmas together some day.

I started getting letters recently and since I can't personally forward them to the parents of the Columbine Angels I thought I would post them here... If you would like to leave a thought or prayer for the Families of the Columbine victims, you may email me and I'll post it below when I have time to edit.
