Crusing Notes 1 The moon will be full, and will rise shortly after sunset, giving the possibility of a warm night time cruise under a full moon to the raftup location for those who should desire it. The normal day will provide 16 hours of daylight including pre-dawn and post-dusk.
Crusing Notes 2 According to my "Guide to Cruising Chesapeake Bay", it says

Althought heavily settled to its head, Whitehall Creek offers a number of attractive anchorages. Buoys mark deep water for about a half mile until the creek forks at Ridout Creek. Eight to 10 foot depths continue along both forks almost to their sources. Winding your way past daybeacon "7" and heading for Ridout Creek, you'll find that even in teh dark its entrance is easy to negotiate. In a breeze, the tall trees on both banks may be swaying and sighing in the wind, but down on the water all should be relatively calm. Ridout Creek is one of those truly beautiful creeks of the Chesapeake bay, a creek you'll want to come back to often.

Crusing Notes 3 Frequently asked questions about our raftup:

What If it its rained out? There is no alternative date. Each captain must make their own choice as to whats a acceptable weather window for themselves. The list has traded various phone numbers around for last minute updates. Get ahold of one of these numbers and call one of these folks (John Myers, Tim Ford, Dan Hardiman or Chris Maddox) for any last minute changes. The last chance for me to update the web site is Thrusday evening (The 12th), after that, I myself will be on the way to the raftup.

Whats the exact location? The initial gathering point is in the middle of a little bay on Whitehall Creek where Ridout Creek comes in from the left and the coordinates are North 39.00.669 and West 076.267.189. In case that proves unsatisfactory, we have an alternate location a little further up Whitehall Creek near Whitehall Yacht Yard and the coordinates are North 39.01.030 and West 076.25.968.

The initial point is just after some 6kph markers which should slow the traffic down. Of course, a raft-up 15 boats wide in the middle of the creek should slow everything down. The closest possible saloon...uh...safe haven is the Whitehall Yacht Yard which Chris is to contact and ask for recommendations concerning previous raft-ups in the area and if they can support us with ice, etc. The weather seems to be improving. Hopefully those of us who have run into delays can overcome them in time to join in the cameraderie.
