Our Family Christmas Page

I've put this together to share some wonderful Christmas stories from a book that's been in our family for a long time. When my dad was young, he received a book from his employer, called "The Christmas Messenger". He gave this book to my grandmother, who would read two stories to us every Christmas Eve. When she died, the book was passed down to me, and I keep the tradition alive today. It took me a few years to discover some of the other truly great stories in the book, which I'd like to share with you. Some will make you cry, while some may put the Christmas spirit in you. Keep in mind, the book was published in 1941, shortly before the country went to war, in a kinder, simpler time. I don't know why many of the stories are so incredibly sad. Maybe it's to make us appreciate what we have. It wasn't until years after I got this book, that I noticed the inscription inside. "To Robert, from Grandma, who loves you very much." Whatever emotions you may feel while reading these stories, I hope you enjoy them as much as my family has, and to appreciate the gifts you've been given.

The first two are the stories read by my grandma. The Night Before Christmas is probably the most famous of all Christmas poems, and The Boy Who Scoffed At Santa Claus is a poem by Ogden Nash which should bring a smile to the faces of the young ones.
