I know I'm not the only one to find better ways of spending my lectures. Some people like to sleep (by far the more popular choice), eat, read something more worthwhile or... well, I'm sure you can achieve a lot more in a crowded lecture theatre. Why do I bother to turn up at all?
Hmm. I don't know. Well, if I was at home, I wouldn't be churning out these nice drawings, that's for sure :þ
And if there's anyone out there who can share a nice picture, story, or observation, as long as they were somehow or other bored to shits when they created it (be it at school, uni, work, public transport or home), let me know and we'll get it published. (All that time and effort has to amount to something.)

9:00am Monday morning: Spanish Civilization

Did you read the time and day correctly? Who is truly awake at 9am on a Monday morning? (especially so after 1.5 hours of travel in peak hour conditions - shudder). On the few days I was a) there or b) awake, I was hit by the Monday bug. So among the many notes we took (to no avail, as no doubt 70% of us failed that test anyway) were some pretty interesting pictures.

This is a Spanish dragonfly. Lucky for him, he has wings so he can get the hell out of here. And take me with him.

This has been done to death by me. You can figure out the infinity sign.

Also a regular guest on my paper, the hourglass. Seems to be a theme here...

Snails are a new thing. This is a slow progression of some excited snails, getting bigger until they one day rule the world.

It's a mean Spanish ball thing with clawed wings.

A spiral? A shell? Your guess.

A lazybeetle...escaping to his death.

Another heart with wings - but this one's evil...

A pretty border. I liked it, anyway.

This is my favourite rose.

A little stumpy dagger thing.

3.00pm, Tuesday afternoon: Social Psychology

Most lectures were done by a happy little chap, and I must say they were the more interesting of all psych lectures. Still, there's room for improvement when students are sitting in their seats with enough energy to draw weird pics instead of take notes. (Who am I kidding: social psych was useful AND interesting, it's just a pity that by 3pm everyone's braindead.)

As you'll see, I like drawing eyes; this one belongs to an elf or other non-human.

A heart thing with wings - can I be any more original? My attempt at celtic properties.

A butterdragon-fly-thing. Hey, why not?

This is a bit out of character, but I do like shells. I guess that's what it is?

Brings a whole new meaning to shellfire, ha, ha. What goes on in my head? I have no idea.

This is a pretty cool sword idea, though it probably wouldn't be very effective to use.

A funky wing - pity it's not attached to anything.

Another random shell-like design. I really got into these after awhile.

1.00pm Thursday afternoon: Subject Matter and Method

Read: generally boring stuff about the history of psychology and its great thinkers, movements (empiricism etc). The reason there are so few drawings from these lectures is because of the phenomenomal amount of notes I thought I took, which conveniently disappeared a few weeks before the exams. (That's not really true. I just suck at studying.) Anyway, these few will have to do.

Just a little snake.

A flower that, I must admit, I stole from george's album Polyserena (the style, anyhow).

Another starry eyed fellow.

I'm a fan of this one. It's got blood, guts, pretty wings and devil horns - what more could you want?

Didn't really work out, but you get the whole sun/moon idea thing.

11.00am Friday Morning: Psychobiology/Sensory Processes

The lecturer, god bless his soul, seemed like a really nice sort of guy, highly intelligent, probably good to have as a friend. But for some reason (possibly the fact not many people like psychobiology), no one seemed to listen to him. I tried. I even wrote some notes. But it was on these Fridays that I drew the most inspiration for drawings - maybe it was the pink paper - and I came up with some stuff I would never have otherwise.

Inspired by the tree thing below - a bit of an American-Indian feel here.

Just a pretty vine, I always liked this sorta stuff (there's not much else to say).

Another flower from george - those flowers sure have a cool twisty style.

One of the most original things I've done! A very funky, psychadelic eye with a plaited eyebrow.

A Celtic/American-Indian -inspired palm tree.

Also something I'm proud of - just a cool ball with wings. Reminiscent of some artist we studied in yr 12.

An eye, this time normal for once.

I have no idea what this is but liked it anyway.

A scorpion, my favourite...

I have Phoebe from Spanish to thank
for the inspiration for this.
She has something similar tattooed on her back.

You've come to the end of my little pictures page. As I said before, anything you might have come up with when you were bored, send it along to rachelwings@yahoo.com.au and we can start a revolution, baby, yeah. Anything else you want to say, please leave a note in my guestbook!
