My interests:
Being the best possible father to
my children. Turn back now this is about to get
sappy!... Old movies, long walks, swimming & swimming in the rain, working out, canoeing, a bit
of camping, shopping,
history, learning new things, making other people smile, and going out
to eat. Hey it takes a lot of calories to support all this
stress!
My hobbies:
Boating! What was I thinking
when I sold my boat! I miss that freedom. It was just a little
nineteen foot runabout but it sure was fun. I guess it's not a
hobby anymore if it is gone? My first love is tinkering with my
cars (when funds allow). Mostly Ford Mustangs but just about
anything with an engine will do. Back in NY I used to go to the
drag strip almost every Friday and "run" my car.
Actually it was a great stress reliever to race down the quarter
mile. A few times a year the NY
Region SCCA would hold an Autocross event at the Nassau
Coliseum. Those events are similar to drag racing except
with sharp turns. It is a very big adrenalin rush. I drove
in a few "open track" events with the "Eastern
Motor Racing Association" I think those were my
favorite motor sports events to attend and drive in. Four
twenty minute sessions on a road coarse at high speed and trying
to be smooth is very exhilarating. There are many tracks in
Florida and Georgia so I hope to do a lot more events like that in the
coming years. I also enjoy racing Radio Controlled
vehicles. They are cheaper to fix and it hurts a lot less when
you crash. Besides it is just plain fun and a great way to bond
with my boy. On Sundays I like
to watch Formula One races and Nascar.
I do watch other sports like Hockey and some Baseball & Football
but it depends on who is playing. It must Be a NY team.
Mets (even thought they never win), Islanders and Giants respectively.
All of my friends like the Yankees and Rangers so when I lived up
north I did not watch much sports with them. Aviation is also on
the top of the list of things I enjoy.
