The MOMS Club of Quartz Hill/Lancaster, California was started in November 2002 as a sister club to the MOMS Club of West Palmdale, California (now the MOMS Club of Palmdale) with only two members.  We now have about twenty-five members and are growing everyday.

Our club is a volunteer organization that relies soley on the participation of our members to make our chapter successful and fun.  Below is a list of our current 2007-2008

President:
Responsible for presiding over meetings, acting as a liaison with other organizations and the community, organizing the group's activities with the help of the Executive Board, and acting as liaison between our chapter and the International MOMS Club, preparing and presenting any reports, as required by the corporation.
Administrative Vice-President:
Responsible for assisting the President where needed and coordinating service projects.  Oversees the Activities Committee.
Membership Vice-President:
Responsible for promoting membership and hospitality within the group, publicizing the group within the community, assisting the Treasurer in collecting the dues, and coordinating hospitality at all meetings.  Oversees the Playgroup Coordinator, Sunshine Committee, Welcoming Committee, Publicity Coordinator, and the Special Interest Group Coordinator.
Secretary:
Responsible for compiling a roster of all members and distributing as necessary, preparing any necessary correspondences, and taking minutes of all meetings and keeping them available for review by members and the Executive Board.  Oversees the Calling Committee, Historian, and Newsletter Editor.
Treasurer
Responsible for all funds of the group, receiving and dispersing as directed by the Executive Board, maintaining the financial records of the group, and preparing/presenting a financial report as required.  Oversees the Fundraising Committee.
Activities Committee:
Responsible for conducting and attending the monthly activity meeting.  Coordinates field trips, tours, guest speakers, and crafts.  Submits calendar to the board before the newsletter deadline.  Responsible for recruiting a chairperson and committee for all major activities of the club.  Researches local activities and keeps track of Activity Evaluations on major activities.  Reports to the Admisitrative Vice-President.  Consists of one Chairperson and three committee members.
Calling Committee:
Responsible for contacting members to remind of important events, to alert of changes to the calendar, and to relay any other MOMS Club news.  Reports to the Secretary before making calls to verify current information.  Consists of one Chairperson and one committee member per ten club members.
Fundraising Committee:
Responsible for soliciting advertisers for our newsletter and coordinating fundraising drives.  Checks our fundraising e-mail and reports to Treasurer.  Consists of one Chairperson and three committee members.
Historian:
Responsible for maintaining our club's scrapbook and making it available at the monthly Member's Meetings.  Reports to the Secretary.
Sunshine/Welcoming Committee:
Responsible for coordinating meals, gifts, flowers, cards, and other resources for members and their families who are in need or are celebrating a special occasion.  In addition, also responsible for contacting new members upon joining the club and extending a personal invitation for upcoming events and answering any questions regarding the club.  Also responsible for helping to plan, secure location, arrange childcare, and secure food for the New Members Tea.  Reports to the Membership Vice-President.  Consists of one chairperson and two committee members per twenty club members.
Playgroup Coordinator:
Assists in forming new playgroups by contacting playgroup leaders to inform them of our new members.  Responsible for maintaining current lists of playgroup participants and playgroup status (open/closed/suspended) and relays any changes to the Newsletter Editor.  Reports to the Membership Vice-President.
Publicity Coordinator:
Responsible for getting the word out about our club via flyers, newspaper releases, business cards, etc.  Plans membership drives, maintains current list of where our flyers are, and replaces them as necessary.  Reports to the Membership Vice-President.

Newsletter Editor:
Responsible for gathering upcoming information, birthdays, dues due, and any other important articles, and assembling it into the monthly newsletter.  Reports to the President for proofing, then to the Secretary for final proofing and printing.

Responsible for coordinating Babysitting Co-op.  Establishes guidelines and maintains records of current participants.  Reports to the Membership VP.  Consists of one coordinators.

Responsible for keeping the list of Secret Mommies.

Responsible for tracking volunteer list of "Veteran" Members and assigning each new member to a "Veteran" Member.
