• Some Observations on Christ's Sermon On The Mount. A restored version based on two 18^th century texts, without the extensive deletions present in 19th century texts.

CYRUS COOPER:

• Selections From the Friendsville Current. A collection made by the editor of 24 pieces by the famous Ohio Conservative Minister covering various topical issues, reports from his travels in the ministry, and personal writings, most from the last five years of his life, with a few being posthumous reprints of earlier work.

JONATHAN DYMOND:

• The Immediate Communication of the Will of God. Being Chapter 6 of Essay 1 of The Essays on The Principles of Morality.
• Rights of Self-defence. (Chapter 17 of Essay 2 of the Essays on Morality)
• Punishment of Death (Chapter 13 of Essay 3 of the Essays on Morality)
• Patriotism. (Chapter 17 of Essay 3 of the Essays on Morality.)
• War. (Chapter 19 of Essay 3 of the Essays on Morality.) The second work by Dymond on this subject. This text includes a preface by the present editor and the introduction to some reprints from John Bright.

PRINCESS ELIZABETH OF THE PALATINATE AND VARIOUS EARLY FRIENDS:

• The Elizabeth Letters. Correspondence between Elizabeth, Princess of the Palatinate in what is now Germany, probably the highest ranking ally of the Friends, with Robert Barclay, Stephen Crisp, George Fox, and William Penn. All but the letter of George Fox are out of print.

JOSEPH JOHN GURNEY:

• Sabbatical Verses and Other Poems. Religious and devotional poetry by the controversial 19th century figure, still anathematized by many; intended to be presented as nothing but that.

GERALD K. HIBBERT:

• A Plea For A Deeper Ministry and Other Essays. Hibbert was an English scholar, Headmaster of Ackworth School, reader at Woodbrooke, and columnist for The Friend. These six articles, from the 1930's, show his concern for renewal and return to substance.

SAMUEL J. LEVICK:

• Selections From The Life of Samuel J. Levick. One of the more conservative members of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (Hicksite) with evident concerns for the direction they were going in; sometimes better received among "Gurneyite" Orthodox than in his own Yearly Meeting. This includes extracts from his early diary, personal letters, essays, sermons, and speeches.

ELIZABETH LEVIS:

• Some Friendly Advice & Cautions, Wherein Are Some Things of Weighty Concern Recommended to the Serious Consideration of the Professors of the Holy Truth Regarding Spirituous Liquors. A very early (1761) writing on the subject edited from the original manuscript. (The text that used to be on QWHP was the much inferior one edited by John Comly.) This text also includes a biographical sketch from The Friend (Philadelphia) and four letters to her children.

JOSEPH JAMES NEAVE:

• The American Journal. An unusual piece, being the account of an English (later Australian) Friend's visit to the United States, and in particular to the Southern States, during the final days of the American Civil War.
• Travels in Russia. Telling of his journey to visit Stundists (Baptists) and other dissenting Christians exiled in Russia. This, the last chapter of the first part of his Journal, also makes brief mention of his second visit to America and his decline in health following an incident of Typhoid fever while in North Carolina.
  

WILLIAM PENN:

• The People's Ancient and Just Liberties Asserted In the Tryal of William Penn and William Meade for Causing a Tumult, at the Sessions Held at the Old Bailey, London, the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th of September, 1670, Against the Most Arbitrary Procedure of That Court. The only known available full transcript of this famous and important trial, with the Appendix and Postscript, supplemented with Penn's letters to his father from Newgate Prison.

MAX I. REICH:

• More Than Conquerors and Other Writings. Seventeen pieces written against the backdrop of the dark days of World War I. Reich was born into a Orthodox Jewish family in Berlin, and converted to Christianity first among the Plymouth Brethren, where he became a traveling evangelist and later to Quakerism. He worked as a printer, a librarian at Haverford College and in his later years as a professor at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

JACOB RITTER:

• Memoirs of and Pertaining Too. 19th Century German speaking Hicksite, convert from Lutheranism, and protégé of William Savery; formerly against his better judgment a soldier in the American Revolution under George Washington, taken prisoner by Hessian Mercenaries during the Battle of the Brandywine. Given to dreaming dreams and seeing visions.

SAMUEL RUNDELL:

• Observations on the Commencement and Progress of the Work of Vital Religion in the Soul: on Divine Worship: And on The Partaking of The Flesh And Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. An English Conservative Treatise on the subjects in question, once a favorite among Conservative Friends but now little known. This includes an introduction sketching some of the controversy involved in reprinting the piece and the unlikely scenarios given (for example, Joseph John Gurney was supposed to have spoken against it, and Daniel Wheeler was in favor of it, but neither were even in the country at the time, the first being on an ambitious missionary tour of the Pacific Islands and the latter in America.) This also includes a biographical article taken from the Annual Monitor.
